Well Northern Alberta Scale Car Auto Racers have decided to bring back the Asphalt Attack.

So we are running July 19-20

Track will be open 1:00pm-9:00pm July 18 for practice

Racing start at 10:30am on Saturday July 19
3 Qualifiers then controlled Practice till 9pm

1 Qualifier and Mains on Sunday

Race Classes:
Touring Car Stock and Mod
WCICS Rules (Sort of, See end of post for explanation)
Bring your own Tires, we will mark one set that you want to race and these will be your race tires for the weekend.

NASCAR Rules: Rubber Tire, 21.5 Motor, 2s, 1050g Minimum Weight (For this Race width open)

1/10 PAN Car
17.5 2s 235mm or 200mm Open Body (these are fast they can run with the Nitro TC)

Tamiya Mini
WCICS Stock and OPEN MINI (Open Motor, Speedo, gearing and tire. Must be a Tamiya mini chassis)

1/12 Pan Car
WCICS Stock-13.5 1s

1/10 Nitro TC

1/8 Nitro

Please bring your own tables, Chairs, Extension Cords and Shade.

If you want a class not listed you need 7 cars to make a heat. If you have a car not listed and 6 friends that will come with you we will run it.

Entry Fee is $30, it includes one T-Shirt and as many classes as you want to run. All Entry fees are refundable if rained out.

We are trying to have a concession on site We will have door prizes

We will allow all 2s hardcased lipo's that are not on the ROAR Approved list.
We will allow all binky speedos.

We did bring back the Asphalt Attack in 2009 as a one time thing. I think everyone had a great time. Reviving it again is awesome and hopefully we can make it an annual event again.....Hats off to NASCAR!!!!!!!

I am certainly stoked about this race. Can't remember the last time I raced outdoors but been far too long.

I say offer the 1/8GT. I know I'll bring mine.

Is there a game plan for the weekend? Test and tune Saturday and race Sunday? Or full two day race event?

So just making sure i understand correctly that almost all classes you get to choose your choice of tires?

Yes, Except CTA they still run the spec tire.

Stock Mini must run mini size tires, Open Mini anything goes.

1/10 nitro and 1/8 onroad can run what ever they want.

1/10 and 1/12 pan can run any compound they want.
