your ESC thoughts?
anyone know if the LRP SPX Super Reverse (LRP80400) OR SXX Competition (80900) are any good?
I blew up my Tekin (too many times) and am looking for a new ESC for 1/12 or TC, both are "blinky"
thanks

I think you should go back to brushed.... at least you would only cook motors
What is it with you and Tekin ESC's?
If I was looking for a 1s ESC, and I am, it would be a toss up between the Orca VX1 and the HW Xerun 120A 1s 3.1. Although the HW 1s only ESC is not on the Roar approved list yet.
The Viper VXT1 has been too problematic for both Earl and myself, so I cannot recommend.

My LRP's have been rock solid for me. The onl one that I have had problems with was because of a bad motor. I didn't realize the motor was toast so I ended up taking out another ESC before testing the motor.
I have had lots of problems with the Viper esc's myself but I know of quite a few guys that are using them without any issues at all.
Reedy is releasing one but that won't be for a while. From what I am told, it is not based off of anything else, a totally in house design that will not be built by LRP.

and pick up the lcd program card at the same time. Plus I can help support you or anyone for that matter if you have any problems with motors or esc's.
Put it this way I have used nothing but hw for the past 3 years and have never had one problem with any of there motors or esc's top notch.

I use the hobbywing v2.1 1s esc. its great, ~$120, easy programmer, and smooth.
never had a tekin go bad on me, never even had to send them for servicing.
theyre rock solid imo, I still have the RS that I bought used 4 years ago, and it still rocks.
I only use them in TC though, so that may be our difference.

Although I agree with this, WCICS rule set specifically states that the ESC must be on the ROAR non-timing list. Kinda sucks cause ROAR is lackadaisical when it comes to updating the list

You have to race to be sponsored dont you ?
Are you looking for a speed control that does not require a pack for the receiver?
