CONCESSION
The concession this year will be run by the Bert Church High School Band Program under the name Racing in Harmony. 30% of the proceeds will be going to the Food Bank with remaining funds going towards funding the band program, with an eye towards a band trip to New York in 2015! There will be a variety of foods available, but the menu has not yet been completely verified.

As we have the privilege of using their facility and proceeds will be helping others in need, we ask that outside food not be brought into the venue, if possible. They're supporting us, so let's support them,

Here's a link to the menu.

Snowpocalypse is just four weeks away. Please help us out by signing up ahead of time.
The KARZ club is really looking forward to putting on another great race. We hope we've got everything covered. There's certainly plenty of pit space.
We should have a great view of the the track from the drivers stand in the bleachers. The track is 80x48 plenty of room for some great racing.
Here's a bit of video from last year courtesy of Joe from Edmonton. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPwsw3-wbck.
This years layout will give the Mod cars a chance to stretch their legs.

IronRing Racing 11-12-2013 08:43 PM

Last year this was the second biggest race in the series, and the biggest in Alberta! It was simply amazing how Karz was able to adapt to the incredible turnout, yet still keep everything rolling and have full tech, tight schedule, etc! Dianne did a great job and we're looking forward to her great RD'ing again!

Looking forward to another great event, and great racing, with close to 200 entries. To put that in perspective, that's almost 2/3 of IIC in Vegas!!!

Josh

Ok Nick I think I understand. You'll be there running TC stock and CTA, but we won't tell anyone.;)

We hope the weather's going to be OK. Remember though the race is called the Snowpocalypse.

I stated for years I'd never run a foam tire car. Fast forward: I love my WGT!

Touring cars are still silly.

Just think what the old foam tire Touring cars with Ni MH batteries and brushed motors were like.

We've certainly got it good these days. Looks like that's reflected in the entries so far. Almost everyone is running a TC class.

That said WGT is extremely COOL, and dare I say it has tires that wear better than Mini.

Tires for WCICS Round 4 - Airdrie

As you all have probably read elsewhere on the forum, we will be using a different tire for legs 4 and 5 of the series.

From Josh's post on the WCICS thread:

"In Airdrie and Victoria we'll be testing Sweeps. Specifically the True-Blue QTS32N, which is a new tire with a new "black" insert; not the blue one pictured that is probably in current tires you might find. It's designed to be much more consistent than the current tires people might be familiar with (those who went to Kamloops last year, etc), and apparently has quite different, more consistent, handling than the blue insert tire."

We are looking forward to a successful event in Airdrie, and a big thanks to Josh and Korgae for ensuring that we have a supply of tires for our events!

Hope to see you all there - you can register on WCICS.ca or RSVP on the thread.

Great choice on the tires. While I won't be making this round, I'm sure I'll be hearing nothing but good things about the True Blues. I ran these a while back and although I found them to not be as consistent on the same track with the exact same setup as the Jaco's, they provided better grip and had a bit of a drop off. They didn't fall off a cliff by any means, but they do require a bit less aggressive setup. Maybe just a starting point for you guys that haven't ran these before.

That being said, new insert, so maybe the characteristics have totally changed.

Just some stuff to think about.

Cheers.

Thanks for the insight Danny. We hope the racers will like the tires, i'm sure they'll be great.
Its a shame you can't make it to the KARZ round this time. Maybe we'll see you at CARCAR in March.

FWIW. I've been running the new Sweep QTS (quick traction system) 32 tires since the beginning of the season. They're certainly improved over last years version, the most significant upgrade IMO is a stiffer wheel. Danny's right, some setup changes may be needed but hey, we all ran the gooey sorex 28's in Edmonton and made out just fine right. If anyone wants the Sweeps in advance to work on setup, PM has them in stock. Looking forward to this race, the KARZ guys put on a great show!
