Default Western Canadian Indoor Championship Series

Hey guys and gals, I just wanted to start a thread for this years WCICS.
I am going to be representing CARCAR this season and wanted to get everything sorted out before the season starts. My goal this year is to increase the attendance at the events and to create a higher level of competition while maintaining a fun atmosphere.
Some areas of concern that have been brought to my attention so far;
-Cell issues, what cells are legal and what are not.
-To add a B.C. race to the schedule
-Consistency for thophies or awards at each event as well as at the end for overall championships.
-Classes should remain the same as last year;Touring Stock, Touring Modified, Touring 19turn Spec, 12th scale stock, 12th scale mod, 10Pan Open.
-Mod motor limit since we include brushless in the mod classes.
Any other concerns can be voiced here or by emailing me directly.
If the other club representatives could contact me that would be great.
Thanks.....Dwayne Flodell

I dont think there should be a motor limit at all for mod. if you got the skills and battery to run a 6turn for 5min go ahead . Its the mod class it should be were you can stretch your legs and go fast.

I think their should be a ten turn limit in mod class. Also we should keep running foams on carpet.Running a spec tire for the series is a bad idea.

No spec tires at all on carpet. Same basic rules as last year. We just need to update some, but mainly my point is to bring attendance up and increase overall interest in the series. If people have any thoughts or ideas to help with these areas let me know.
Thanks

My vote would be for open Mod. No limit.

Thanks Greg, the reason for no turn limit in mod touring is to run brushless in the same class. With some of the new brushless systems coming out, my opinion is that this will eliminate any unfair advantage that some might think the brushless has over brushed motors. Only an idea and not a rule. We are just looking for peoples opinions and ideas. Keep it up.
Thanks.....Dwayne Flodell

The only thing i think about this is , it would only be fair to give it to Jesse and them as they are the only ones from BC that came here to race.

I think we're certainly be interested in having it at the VMAR track as well.

One way or the other, we should definitely bring a race out to the coast - it doesn't matter too much to me if it's Overgeared or VMAR doing it, but I'd love to see it happen.

Or maybe it could be a group thing for the 2 groups there. the only thing is i hope who ever if ever does it, understands that it will most likly not get the largest support for races just because of the distance.

For an example for us from Sask. it about 2700KM I would fly out but i can assume there would maybe be one other with me but most likly not .
Calgary and Edmonton i am not sure how far it realy is but again i am sure it maybe a lower turn out of race travellers .

Overall the race would still be good there is a lot of Vancouver guys as well as Washington guy.

I will be the Rep for Lethbridge Tom Tilleman
To add another race to an already busy race series would hurt the series.
Unlimited Motors in Mod, And batteries are big enough now that it doesn't really matter anymore.

Distance would definitely be a factor - we're definitely a long way from everyone out here on the coast. As long as the series has the right structure, hopefully it wouldn't be too big a deal - people could throw out our race if it's too far, and for guys from the coast, maybe they could toss out the races farther East.

I grew up out in Saskatchewan, so I'd love to get out there for the race! But, it would be a way for anyone not so aquainted with the area.

Let's see how it all comes together, but I'd love to see a race out here!

Good job guys....lets talk it out.
The Overgeared guys definately support the series already. They are a definate asset. Without a B.C, date it should only be the Mid West Canadian Indoor series Anyway, would be nice to include a west coast race. Thanks for the great support last year Tom....your race is always well run and a blast to be at. I am looking forward to working with you on the series this year.
Thanks.....Dwayne Flodell
