Hey stikman,
Yeah, our stock class is awesome. It's the only electric class we run in our club racing which means that every single club member is racing against one another. With such a large number of racers in the same class you're virtually guaranteed to be battling it out with at least a few other racers every time you hit the track. It makes for great racing!
Where are you located?

Hey Dave,
Excellent, glad to have you onboard. Yep, we spray the track with a liberal dose of coke syrup mix. It offers tons of traction. Most of us use the tried and true Yokomo 138G tires with medium or firm inserts. Those of us that came over for the Smackdown last summer have used our left over ING tires with good success as well.
Friday practice is up in the air at the moment as we're waiting to hear back from the city on this. We'll likely be limited to Friday evening for practice. That is why we have a fair bit of time set aside for practice on Saturday morning. I will keep you posted as I hear more.

Your race looks likes it would be fun.But I have some difficulties with strength in my legs. The drivers stand in the pictures looks like it might be a problem for me.Can you tell me if it has stairs and how wide it is
#9
Blake, from the pictures, it's the same place as when me and Jesse visited there , right?

Hi fasteddie d,
It's not obvious from the picture but the drivers stand is actually quite easily accessible. It is mounted up against a very slight grass hill. So, you simply walk up the grass hill and then you're at the same height as the deck. Then just step onto the deck. The deck is about 25' long and about 3' deep. I will take a better picture of the arrangement this Sunday at our club race.
rcspeedo,
Yep, it's the same location as last summer when you, Jesse, and Alfred visited. Hopefully you guys can make it back - that was a fun race that day.

Sounds Good! I am planning on attending.

Time to check on the ferry situation...
You guys have done yourself proud at OGR's past events.
Time for us to return the favor.
I take it that this race will be a relaxed atmosphere with no strict Roar standards. Will there teching, if so, for what?

Hey Ramil,
Hehe, we can help you with the ferry schedule if need be. I know it off by heart these days. Seriously though, they run every single hour during the summer so it should be nice and easy to get here. Further, we've planned the Sunday so that you guys can make it back home on one of the last two boats that evening.
As for the relaxed atmosphere - that's exactly what we're going for. This kind of attitude has served us very well in our club racing for the last few years and so that's what we want to carry into the Speed Weekend event as well.
That said, in order to keep things relatively fair, we will be teching the very basics. You can see from the race information at the top of this thread that motors, batteries, and nitro engines must meet basic ROAR approval but that's pretty typical. We'll also tech the usual weight, width, and height.
Of course it will be impossible for us to actually ensure that every racer adheres to these basic rules. And so I always hope the spirit of racing will keep everyone on the level.
