The new local Vancouver club will be holding its first trophy race on the 2nd weekend of March. It will be a 3 day event, so get ready to race, and make sure your chargers keep charging.
You can find more information on www.vmar.ca. We just got our website up, and a d/l pdf file is available for the trophy race. More info to come.

Wow $50 for first class.....and the date is 2 weeks after the Kamloops race....don't think you'll see to many people show from the Kamloops area. Just too close together for me and many others.

Cost of rent is pretty high, and we're still a new club. On the bright side, it is 3 whole days of racing - with a Sunday buffet included.

Too bad on the date. Some of us will be going to Calgary for there race. Plane tickets already paid for. 50 buck seems high. I know you get the buffet, But I for one don't like east indian food. Hopefully there is big trophys and lots of prizes for the one's that are going.

The trophies will definatley be unique Dave. Also yes, we will be having some attractive prizes.
We have also taken a lot of people's input into consideration, and have changed the flyer (read: entrance fees).
Please check out our website at www.vmar.ca.

Our club is rich? Doesn't every race track have corinthian leather couches & pretty ladies serving champaign?
Nah, we're just adjusting the price point according to the capacity of our venue and ability to conservativley break even. The objective of our first trophy race is to:
1) create an enjoyable & memorable event for all those attending
2) attempt to atleast break even, so that an even more enjoyable & memorable event can be held by the club this summer
3) use the event as a diagnostic to gauge where our administration & organization levels are at
At $20 - $35, it is projected that practically all pit space/walking space would have to be saturated, in order for the finances to break even. To comphensate for the saturation of space, our club would have to shorten the track and make more room for accomidation, which is a big NO NO. Furthermore, if projections are not met with a low cost entry fee, cutbacks to the race would have to be made (no friday practice, lame tropies from the discount section, dollar store prizes, etc).
After doing many projections & calculations, it came to a concensus that it would be much more effective to get 45 ppl at a higher price, and have a race that will run smoothly with plenty of fun & prizes - than to try and get 100 ppl at a low rate into a venue that will be bursting at the seems. And lets not even get started with logistic matters of an event with 100+ ppl.
Our club is young, and we know our strengths, as well as our current limitations. Biting off more than we can chew is a recipie for disaster. This is our club's very first big event, and we're going to play it safe. Entrance Fee has been re-adjusted.
Hope to see you there

It's open tires for all classes.
So you can use rubber or foam on the carpet, which was just purchased and used this year.
Once in a while, a driver will traction roll & put lexan on the carpet too
