I registered for offroadrc.ca a few months ago, and it is definitely a great resource. I have found a lot of interesting information on that website for all of the major events in eastern Canada and the United States. For example, I have heard many positive reviews about the annual "Sprucewood Invitational" that takes place near Toronto every August. If and when I ever travel to eastern Canada for a RC tournament, I will most definitely consider this race as an option.

As it stands right now, rctech.net is a popular internet forum that (primarily) Westerners refer to for race info and discussions. Offroadrc.ca serves the same purpose for Easterners. lol Perhaps there will come a time when we'll all have one primary site for Canadians to discuss this hobby, but in the mean time, our current situation is more than suitable

I was reading an interesting topic on offroadrc.ca, in regards to whether or not the popular GLCORCS racing series should be cancelled to make way for the RC Pro Series. I imagine that same arguement will eventually arise in the west, as to whether or not the CORCS racing series should be abandoned for the same reason. Topics such as these, in my opinion, heavily reinforces the idea that Canadians should to come together as a governing body (with our own primary website) where we can have these discussions in order to achieve a 'majority rules' outcome.

However...on second thought...I find this website to more than enough for what we need;-)

All the positive reviews you have heard about Sprucewood are true. Last years race had over 250 racers, including some top dogs from the US. Heres a clip Sprucewood Video

The organizers/directors behind the Glorcs and RcPro have had their meetings with the conclusion that both will exist and scheduling is being worked out.

Offroadrc.ca is a hot spot for Canadians wanting information and help in is hobby. I support Offroadrc.ca and its creator Jason Carre. I believe that it will grow into the "majority rules" forum for Canada. I'm trying to gain more interest and encourage people to register and check us out! I also enjoy RcTech and found it to be a powerhouse of information!

Thank You for your interest and kind words!
Calvin

Thanks Calvin...

We (ORRC) are growing at a fast rate for sure! I would love to see the day that we are the hub for the entire Canadian racing scene... something to work towards in time...

We are predominantly Ontario but do have many members who contribute from various countries states and provinces.

The majority of us are all part of the regular forums as it is but are unfortunately scattered about the net.
