Hopefully I will have dates for club races Next year and the WCICS and ATS races.

The Agenda I have so far, Feel free to bring up anything you think needs discussion:

We need to talk about MINI. The Calgary guys are not happy about the 21.5 open motor. They want cheap spec motors like we have now. I researched it out (with Joe and Jim Evans) and found a cheaper replacement for the ORCA motor. Jim in Calgary is getting a sample and dynoing it to make sure it is suitable. I need to know if you want to keep cheap spec motors where everyone has the same motor or go to open 21.5.

I need to finalize the rules for Scale Spec/CTA.

Discussion of raising membership and race fees. We need to make more money so in a year or two we can get into a permanent place. The Museum is not going to let us stay forever.

Making sure the paperwork is done to get us on the Casino list.

Making some European style curbs for the corners.

Discuss any changes to the ATS series that you the membership want

Election of the Exec.

As I said if you want anything added please post below.
Patrick would making cash from the outdoor track be a help like 5$(as many cars as you want) to keep some cash flow going at summer time.
5$*x amount of racers may help.
Just a quick idea.

See you all at AGM

Hopefully someone here can help me.
I have tried N.A.S.C.A.R.'s 'contact' function five times over the last couple of months and no one ever responds.
We (myself and two sons) are new to the sport and would like to get involved...but as I say my requests for info have gone unanswered.
We'd like to try out the summer outdoor racing mentioned on the website.
Where?
When?
Is it a go on most weeks (the website sounds pretty vague)
Please...someone help.
Thanks

Sorry to here that you couldn't get through I'll talk to our web guy. Ok the track is here. It is in behind the school. You can see it if you switch it over to "Earth". We start racing outside soon. We are still racing indoors at the Aviation Musem which is here. We are racing tonight, drop by and meet the group and join up. Your first membership is free and then we can give you the pass to get in the outdoor track.

Thanks and I am sorry I never got your emails.

Thanks for the quick response.
We have stopped by one Friday a month or so ago and were quite impressed. Expected a few people with a 1/2 dozen cars...the place was packed.
My sons (11 & 14) each have a 1/16 Slash. Though they have smooth carpet tires for them I have been led to believe that these trucks would be more suited to the outdoor racing.
If you could let me know what date the outdoor racing starts we will be there for that.
Again, thanks for getting back to me.

Probably the first week of June on Tuesday nights. If you go to facebook and sign up for the NASCAR page there will be a little more info on it.

Okay, drove over to Thorncliffe this morning and were pleasantly surprised by the setup.
A couple of questions before we show up at the Tues evening meets.
-What time usually. My boys (11 & 14) have music lessons on Tue that end by 6:30. If you meet a bit later than that, no problem, but if you start at 6 or so we'll try and change their music lessons to Thursday
-Now a performance question. They have the 1/16 Slash short course trucks. They have a set of racing slicks, but we noticed when we tried them in the school parking lot that they have a lot of body roll and easily flip. Is this just a matter of reminding them that it isn't like a video game and they need to slow down more...or is there something we can do. I've read about things like changing the shock oil, springs, or adding sway bars.
Will they notice a difference.
-Last...on the website it says that the first time out is a 'freebie' to see if they like it...does this still hold true.
They want to get into this for the fun aspect...but they are at the age where they would like to be somewhat competitive.

Any comments would be appreciated....and we're looking forward t0 getting involved.
Thanks for any input.

Nitro, Chuck? You know this means we can't be friends anymore, right?

LoL Jim. Only for onroad. Nothing like the sound of a .12 rossi engine connected to a 2 speed, going from 0 to 110 km/h in under 3 seconds.

Snagglepus, I'm certain that the kids can run what they brung. If they like it and want to get serious, there's a few options for them to try (mini, 1/10 electric, nitro).

Pat, thanks for the reply. It's much appreciated. I'm excited too get my Nitro car up and running.

First time is free. If we do charge for outdoor racing it will be like 5 bucks. Thus still has to be decided at the AGM. we can help you get the cars so they handle better. It is a matter of changing the setup. To much to get into here. We usually try to start between 630 and 7. We will be out racing officially the first week in June. Usually somebody will be out playing on weekends. When you come out snanglepus will give you the combo do you can get in anytime to play and practice.

Ive start in the past with a 1/16 mustang boss 302(same chassis as 1/16 slash just different body)
To start and see if they like racing those trucks will work good. The whole chassis design is more geared towards off-road style driving. On mine i did spend lots of cash to try and make it better but it didnt work out for onroad to well went to bash it for a while. Then sold it and got a TC4 touring car chassis. Havent look back since.
