Got a couple questions hoping someone can fill me in, What tires (front& rear), traction compound, and batteries (brand&capacity) are the best choice or most common for 1/12 scale at the track now? and last time I was out I had problems with my radio setup (Spectrum DX3 with SR3000 reciver). the receiver kept going into its fail safe mode... guessing it was because of the low voltage of 4-cell. Is there a fix to this? or is there a newer reciever out that will work with 4-cells now? Thanks

IS your ESC capable of running 4 cell? Not 100% sure but i believe that some are not capable. Also does your setup use a capacitor? The cap should help with this type of problem.

Sorry guys going out of town for the weekend so I have to KANE OUT on racing tonight. have a fun time tonight!

Mickey, you mean a power capacitor on the speed control right?
There's also a capacitor you can get for the reciever to help with brown-outs as well. The speed control one much is more important to have installed.

Some of the first SR3000 recievers had a problem with losing their bind when used on carpet. Something that might help identify this issue is the ones I've seen with this problem (mine and a couple others) had a black antennae wire from the factory.

Yep ESC works with 4 cell and has a capacitor (Novak GT7)
Reciever has black wire and no capacitor and was bought about 4 years ago.

I sent all my spectrum receivers back and they were updated/fixed at no cost to me...only shipping to them. I don't know if they are still doing this but my experience with Spectrum has been a good one. You can also make a small receiver pack to help with this problem as well. Jim or Mike at Great Hobbies or any of the boys at The Hobby Room should be able to help you out as well.

Well not that anyone cares, but in keeping with my tradition I will be KANE Out on the 2nd and will be back racing on the 9th. The fiance cracked the whip and I must entertain her family who is coming from Kelowna and spending the night at our house that night.

At least it will give me time to build my new 12 scale and TC for the ninth.....Wooooot!

Have fun guys and be safe tonight,
Kane

If anyone has a spare 1/4 X 38 flanged bearing for the BMI 1/12 scale car and is willing to part with it please let me know. I need one to race tonight. It is the bearing that goes on the rear axle and into the plastic ride height adjusters. The Hobby room online says they have an Acer bearing in stock. Anyone know if this will work?

Thanx

Hello Doug,

Thanks very much for the the great race time you extended to me and Ryan. There was great racing time as well as a great spectator session. The cars on your track are amazing blurs and lightning fast, I just had to get some pictures. I wish to extend my sincere thanks to all the members at NASCAR for being helpful, and providing great advice when I asked what are probably silly questions.

Ryan and I will be back to your track as soon as I get a break from my projects and prior to us coming down, I will let you know in advance and I will bring down the CRC click track for you and the members to review. By then we will have some experience setting up and will be able to provide some feedback on how the track performs.

Thanks again for your warm welcome and hosting us at your club races.

Best regards,

Rob Borowiecki
