Calvin,

You can usually use a lower turn motor for outdoors as the track is bigger and allows you to use the extra power. Like with the 11 turn motor you ran today you seemed to have a lot of speed, while if you put that onto the carpet track it would be a lot harder to drive since the track is so much tighter. To start off in mod for carpet I would do like John suggested and go with a 13-16 turn motor.

As for using different armatures in a can, you can use different armatures in different cans, but I beleive you have to stick with the same brand of arm that the can is...but I am not 100% sure on that.

The lower the turn, the faster the motor ... you can go with a lower turn motor on a large track, like the outdoor track ... but go with a higher number on a smaller track (indoors) ... 13 to 16 turn for winter on carpet ...

The Alex Barracuda is one sweet looking machine, I haven't done too much homework on it, but definetly eye candy.

Stay with around 13 to 14, the 10 turn motors might be much to handle on inside track for yourself Calvin. Think indoors with the lanes being alot tighter will change things big time wise for driving yourself and even myself also compared to outside track.

Calvin if thinking of going with another car would be best to go with a Losi or AE, best to have something that others have as to get help setting it up for track.

Way and Wayne are the Losi Gurus
And Craig is the AE Guru

Even I rely very heavily on others such as Way for setup tips on my Losi car.

Can't go wrong with either car and maybe just wait to buy until a decent deal come up on a used one in the club.

yeah if i am im gonna get a losi. im trying to save money when playing r/c i think i spend too much

there is no stop in money spending when it comes to r/c
i'll try to stick with my 414mII for the indoor season and then a lil bit of the outdoor then i'll really think of buying a losi unless a sweeet deal comes along

1/8 sure was fun again... blew up a lot of stuff though ... just a really bad weekend for parts HAHA. 1-way blew up (old anyway), rear belt (minor), C4 engine and 3 plugs - kablewieeee ... d'oh! The carb kept popping loose on me and then the engine went way lean once I got it back in... I took it apart today - there was a sleeve around the carb neck that actually came off... and the piston and button head are totally cratered from runnig lean. I guess 10 min at 300f in on-road is enough to toast and engine LOL! At least it was an old one that had already been cratered a few times ...

Anyway ... its all fixed now he he ... looking forward to more mayhem next weekend.

1/12 is ready to go for carpet season

The new AMB system simply rules!!

And anyone looking for a cheaper way to get in to 1/8 - that HPI car is awesome... I drove Waynes and its as good as my Slide...

I'm going to order them from www.speedtechrc.com .

Let me know tonight if you want one, and if you do what turn/winds.
