So...who wants to race?

Gerry, I have a 17.5 non boosted geared to 3.9 we'll see if it makes a huge difference maybe run 2 different motor to give other guys options to not spend too much $. If all is well with ur 21.5 boost against my 17.5 non boost maybe we can run both? What do you think?

Which tires do you guys run in a touring car style class? I'm an RC racer from years ago and i'm interested in getting back in the hobby. I used to run "touring stock" in the early 2000's. Which class would be equivlent to this now and which tires/motors/batteries/body do the top competitors use.

Thanks

Tyler

Hey Tyler,
Stock class is still touring stock - its a 17.5 brushless motor non boosted. Running a 2S lipo battery around 5000 mah 40-60C. Tires used are Jaco Blues. Bodies are usually the touring car Pro-forma, they come in different styles like the mazda 6. Chassis range from the XRay T3, HB TCX etc.

Hope that helps and hope to see you racing again

Its a funtction from your ECS.
Think of it as a turbo for your car. Once you reach a certain rpm, your boost (turbo) kicks in.

I think thats it, dont take my word for it, im still a newb

Lopow.....lets just run them and see how it goes. I havent calculated my final drive yet. I just geared up and up till I figure I've reached the limits of what the tires can handle at that track....motor is still cold after 3-4 mins.
I will get out again sunday afternoon....around 2-3 if there is some interest.

Yes as others said boosted is done in the speed controller - you can set when the boost kicks in according to the RPM"s and you can set how much boost you want. You don't have to have Roar approved stuff to run but I would recommend you do because if you decide to race in other races in BC or the US then you will end up having to buy them later. Check the race rules for each location as they vary.

Come out to the track and check what people have - most are very knowledgeable and are willing to share what they know.

stock use 17.5t motor no boost
super stock use 13.5t motor with boost
mod is open to any motor, esc and tires
usually spec tire is jaco blue for indoor
but we use any tires for outdoor race
i dont think there is any rules at goracing yet.
you can use anything for free run there and i would suggest use 17.5t non boost there
