Default Edmonton NASCAR On-Road Track Video

Created a short video of the club race we had on April 25, 2004. Gives people a good idea of what the track is like for the big event we are having in Edmonton this summer.

that is a great looking track, looking forward to the summer meeting, 1 question though, why did you put the rostrum at the wrong side?? ( I mean not furthest away from the straight)

The straight and pit lane is right in front of the driver’s stand, we were just running with a straight on the far side of the track as well that day.

see normally the straight, being the easiest part of any track, is furthest away from the drivers stand.
no big deal, just wondered.

like this pic is taken from a drivers stand, the easy part furthest away

Agreed.

The working theory at Thorncliffe however was that both race control and the pit lane were to be situated under and in front of the rostrum respectively... so as to make communication with the drivers a bit easier than yelling from all the way across the track. Since the pit lane had to be long and straight, thusly so was the section of track in front of the stand.

Does this explain adequately?
