Hi everyone,

This race is not just for the racers, but for the spectators and potential racers out there. Even if your not from the Welland area, you never know who is coming to the mall any given day. The track will be set up right in centre court, where traffic will be heaviest. It will be a 48'x72' track.

Whatever track or hobby shop you're from, you're all welcome and even encouraged to put up banners. The object of this race is to unite all the racers, tracks, hobby shops together to promote this hobby as a whole. This race will contain aspects of other large races and some new ideas as well. The Seaway Mall is already full backing this event with advertising in newspapers and local cable TV.

The more racers we get out to the event the better the hobby will be represented to the spectators and people just walking by in the mall. I know sometimes the big races tend to scare some people away, but this one's for the spectators and not about the names. So I don't care if you've raced one day, or 40 years, this is the race you should be at to promote the hobby. Most big races are in a hall or a hotel and are great races, but the general public never sees them. So how do we get more racers? Mall + Spectators = Interest.

We're also having a celebrity race before the mains, including the Mayor of Welland, Dale Epp of Protoform, Fred Cade owner of Best Western Cairn Croft and others. They'll be running identical Tamiya Minis and should be fun for the crowd.

So come and promote your hobby by representing your local track/club/hobby shop.

To all hobby shops, if you want to become a sponsor for this event send me an e-mail. If you don't have a banner we can add your name/logo to our 20 foot banner.

I hope you see you there.

Thanks,
Mark Frechette

Check out the website. It has a fresh new look. There is now an option to register online. The topic was heavily weighed and you may now pay using Paypal too. For those of you that don't use cheques or don't have a Paypal account, you may pay when you check in at the track. Please, only use this option if you need to. We want to keep the amount of last minute payments to a minimum.

There will be a discount on Speedmind/Sorex tires at the mall during the race weekend for those interested. They will be available through hobby shops with booths set up at the mall.

This was posted on the Tamiya.ca forums by Tamiya Tom.

"This is going to be a great event!! Hope to see lots of the TCS racers out!

I know that many of the Tamiya Championship racers are yet to attend Multi day races. Multi day races, really help in learning set-ups and what set-up changes can do on the circuit. The Tamiya Team drivers will be attending this event and on hand to assist with any support you may need!

Racers who enter the M-chassis or Formula One class will recieve a free second class at any of the Tamiya Canada run TCS events in 2010! "
