Summer on-road racing

Hey guys, just wondeing what is happening with the outdoor on-road scene this summer. Tom and I at Mad Scientist Motors will be holding a couple races at the Airdrie hockey rink this summer and would apreciate some feed back for what classes to run and what format to run the races....is there interset fo a 2 day event or keep all of the races a 1 day deal?
Classes we thought would be fun outdoor;
Stock Touring-for sure
Open mod Touring would be fun on the bigger outdoor tracks-with brushless and lipos this class would be awesome. 17.5 and 13.5 are just too close....maybe bump it up to a 10.5 class
Tamiya minis last year were a blast.
Definately a pan class, maybe roll over some of the success of World Gt to
the outdoor scene or possibly a 12th scale class.

We will get dates posted as soon as we get them lined up.
Thanks.........Dwayne

I am definitely up for some on-road racing in the summer, relocating in June to Calgary, living in the SE would be willing to travel a couple of hours if need be.

Cheers
Grant

Dwayne, why not try to hook up with Kevin Philipsand his Avonlea race and make a min series out of it, the 2 in Airdrie and the 1 in Avonlea.

The nice thing about the Avonlea race is its inside on a hugh carpet track so you not playing to the mercy of the weather gods.

Just a thought.

I think Josh said Carcar is holding a Spring AGM in late April to discuss the summer season. I for one had a great time last summer at the Airdrie hockey rink. The track was big, pretty flat, and traction wasn’t too bad. We raced right to the end just before the rain and strong winds came!

A two day event might be more work to organize with set-up, tear down two times and everyone’s busy summer schedule. I’m up for it though. If you could get the rink once a month or alternate between the Horseshoe Club outdoor track that would be good too. I’m not sure what’s going on with the DTP or Hot August Nights.

I’m in for Stock Touring and Mini. Would like to try Mod Touring and 12th but something called marshalling usually gets in my way. We’ve been running 12th scale and WGT together at the club and they are fairly competitive against each other.

Onroad Racing

Hey,

Just letting you onroad guys know that Kamloops will be holding a 2 day onroad race at TVRCRC Raceway. Permanent paved track, supplied power, good pit space...great racing.

August long weekend.

a series would be sweet
im down for a 2-day race for sure, as im not gonna travel 7h to race for 6h

The Kamloops arce is awesome....definately a race not to miss.
Just a note....this thread is just to gather interest for the summer season and in no way represents what CARCAR is going to do. I am just trying to get guys pumped about the outdoor on-road season.
Thanks......Dwayne
