There will be a beginner rally in Kamloops on Saturday August 16th. It will include a "classroom" session where people are taught the basics that they need to know to compete, and then they get to go out and practice on a short Novice style rally.

The event is open to any street legal car (or truck, or SUV, etc etc. There will be no high speed sections, although parts will be what we call "brisk". We will also be avoiding any really rough stuff, so no-one has to worry about damaging the family car.

We'll have a bit more info in a couple of weeks. If anyone is interested in trying the type of events that R.J. and I have been doing, this is the perfect way to try it.

Hope to see you all at the track tomorrow ! Blain, remind me that I have something for you !

Default rally date change

Ren is there anyway to get the date back to the 17th????? As of right now I will be unable to participate.

And I believe that we'll have less help when it comes time to run controls as most of us have to work Saturdays. Is it a problem for the out of towners ?? Sunday I mean ? I may be able to attend the classroom sesion but thats all.

TTYT

We changed the date from the Sunday to the Saturday for two reasons. #1, because this works out better for the WCRA people from Vancouver who (for some reason) schedule almost all their events for Saturdays, and #2, because the Sunday is a TVRCRC race date, and we didn't want to be seen as sabotaging another race day by pulling away a number of club members.

You don't wortk Saturdays at the moment, Jason. Surely you know someone who'd like to go along.

Default you forgot about someone

April returns that day and i'm not ditching her for a day out in the bush. Even if the day may be quite fun. I said that I'd do it with her and that Id be there when she gets back. If she comes back super late Saturday, then I'll be driving in the event. But as of right now I'm out.

The Gold Digger Rally was postponed last night, so the Interior R/C team should be at the next race after all. Just as long as they don't reschedule onto the Riverside Park race date !

Cool

The Kamloops Novice Rally is a "go", however. Thanks, Greg, for being willing to help out. I'm hoping we'll see a number of people out and actually "having a go". The speeds won't be high, and the roads shouldn't be too bad either. Any street legal car is able to take part. (Don't get frightened off by the roll cages etc in our cars - those are primarily for Rallycrosses and Stage Rallies. At the "Coast to Coast" rally we were the ONLY car with a roll cage).

All you need is a car and two people - one to drive and one to navigate. They can be a lot of fun.

I can come out and help this weekend but I'll have both little guys in tow. May have to leave earlier if it's real hot so Dave doesn't roast.

Are we going to relocate the loop....and maybe adjust the second set of doubles???

Wedding bells ...I heard those once and my ears haven't stopped ringing

Default Kamloops Proposed Work Party??

Carver is now a little guy???

That would be great Greg.....Just tenitively (SP) right now. I would like to try moving the loop back or forward (I should say) on the straight away which would be right across from in front of the doubles rather than in between them......if this makes any sense. Also, have the loop not go quite as far over covering the entire width of the track. I don't really want to move the doubles and I know Ren thinks this move will not work, but I think it will make things alot better......my opinion anyway.....give it a shot anyway.

Also like to get that window cut out of the race control shack. Finish up with the connections for the loop wire on the on-road track aswell. Would also like to get that area that I talked about in front of the on-road drivers stand, levelled off and put down the mat, and spread the gravel......clean things up abit.

Who's with me?

Default track & work party

hey Guys

We will be unable to come out to the work party as we are off to a rally in Calgary. I believe that Ren still has merit to move the doubles around a bit. As they are if someone goes off onto the straight there is possibility for a very large accident happening. It should be something to look at changing some time in the nesar future. Besides if you look at the track and what Ren is suggesting it will add a very unique jump to the corner if anyone has the power to do three in one. (maybe a gas or super fast mod truck)

See ya in 2 weeks.
