To start things rolling, that'll be Ren in Truck Stock (RC10T) and Truck Mod (XXX-T), Ken in Truck Mod (T3) and Buggy Mod (B3), and R.J. in Truck Mod (T3) and Buggy Mod (B4).

No sign of a motor for you yet, Jason (Melnyk). Hopefully this week, but don't hold your breath. I haven't been able to get one for myself or Ken yet, either

See you all on Sunday !

Oh yes, we finished 2nd overall at the Vancouver Island "Coast to Coast" rally this weekend...nearly 1,000 kms of back roads and logging trails. The car is FULL of dust (my lungs too !), but it made it back in one piece. R.J.'s driving is really getting quite good !

Thumbs up

Carver and I will both be running stock truck this weekend.

I've got to get his new servo in tomorrow and he has sum new springs to help him make it over the doubles.

This should really help him move up the field

If he gets to quick I my have to do some special motor tuning for him ( or to him )

What winds are you getting in for the KR's Ren

Default classesfor Fall Classic

Gary

I imagine that we'll be offering the traditional offroad classes such as truck and 2wd Stock and Mod, Novice, 1/10th gas, and a monster truck class (ie. T-Maxx and MOnster Pirate). We may offer some onroad classes But I think that it will depend largely on what people from out of town want to run (ie the Lower Mainland). I don't know about 1/8th, I think that the track is a little small for them and there will be no local entries from Kamloops.

Get the word out know will hopefully help us plan to see which classes will be strongly supported and which will not. I you can help spread the word in Calgary and the surrounding tracks, telling everyone that it will be a worth while event, will help boost the numbers enough so we can run whatever we want.

I would not worry about the 4wd electric unless a few from Alberta bring them. Then we may be willing to blow the dust off our own hiding on the top shelf.

Hope to see you at the race and maybe in Kelowna for the Series Finale.

Jason

Default What I'm running

I plan to run Trock stock and Mod, and 2wd mod this weekend at racing. I will be running April's truck stock to help keep that Ren guy honest with his Antique "@ss kicker" LOL I remeber driving his RC10T back in the day, that was when Ren was the man in Stock Truck. Altough, when I got to drive the truck in Novice, it came apart and prevented an unfortunate end to Ren's main. So remember Ren, you owe me one

I just have to clean the damn thing and I'll be ready to kick some butt!

See ya all Sunday.

PS I'm planning on going down to the track Saturday to smooth out a couple of corners and Fix the Doubles. I'll need Keys to the storage area in the building, and some extra hands wouldn't hurt either.

Is there a roller in there ?? Can someone bring one ??

Hey Jason Mardon, love your enthusiasm! If you check out the post I put up a couple of days ago, we hope to get going on it, in and around the 19th of July so cross your fingers for good weather.....but not too hot. My dad and I have the stand pretty much all figured out and it will be sort of like a porch type stand.....very basic with no frills. And STRONG......so as not to fall over in a wind storm as it will be fairly narrow. 20 feet long by 10 feet high and roughly 5-6 feet wide.

Not sure if I will get a chance to get out there this week but would sure encourage some of you others, who have the time, to level out the area between the edge of the On-Road track and the landscaping ties along side the drivers stand. This is the area where the gravel will go. We need to get the chunks of old ashpalt out of there and the area levelled off for the felt to be laid and the gravel to be spread out. We need a good couple of inches down along side these ties so as to allow for an inch or two of gravel. All the material that we pull from this area can just be dumped over on the far side of the On-Road track, along the far bank and out of the way. Gravel will hopefully be there by the weeks end. Any questions, just let me know.

Gary.....we have not yet decided which classes will be run at the Fall Classic, but will for sure include most of the off-road classes. The decision will be weather or not to run On-Road. We will see as we get closer to the end of summer just what people might want to run.

Hey J.....a couple of posts were posted as I was typing up my own post. So if things look a little out of order, then this is because Jason beat me to the punch.

I will be running Truck Stock this weekend unless I get a mod motor by then .....the com basically came apart in my mod so back to stock.....Look out Ren!!

Check with Ren for keys first....if no luck then talk to me.

Talking hey all

I am looking at being there with my truck and hopefully car...I don't quite know where I will fit in the mix novice or stock...since I don't quite know exactly what classes we will be able to fill (hehe who does these days ) anyways I have no problem slowing down you "big guy's" if that is where I have to race... I would like to see if I can trade someone servos as the one I ordered in is a few mm's too large and even with grinding it still wouldn't fit...(Brent I sent you an email!!!!!!) it is a GWS servo and has bearings and all metal gears...it is brand new and never been used so if someone is flying a plane or has a vehicle or gas vehicle where fitting it in a tight area isn't super crucial let me know I would be willling to sell or trade for a decent servo that I can put in my truck

#1...I suspect Gary is asking if we'll be running a 1/8th scale class for the Fall Classic. I think that should be decided quickly.

#2...I don't think we're going to have any Novices this weekend (hardly anyone in the club qualifies anymore), so Blain should be in stock....which he won handily last time out !

Right now the only mod I'm trying to get in is Jason Melnyk's special order. I am also trying to get a couple of 12 and 13 turn motors in for stock. These will be "Peak" or "Orion" motors, as these have been the easiest to get in the past. Jason's motor will be a Reedy, as requested.

Why do I have to look out ???? (Five-7)... I switch my quick truck to mod from stock, and suddenly everyone's bailing out to get back to stock ! I do not expect my ancient RC10T to be a major factor in stock, although it will be fun (and a bit nostalgic). And the XXX-T wasn'y exactly a challenge to anyone in Mod (slow 17t single). The motor will be upgraded this week, but it'll still be a used machine wound. (I believe about a 14t.)

Hi All:

Some of the Quesnel racers are possibly interested in coming to the Fall Classic. Will you be running 1/8 and 1/10 Gas Truck? Some of us up here only race Nitro off road so that could determine some entry problems for our racers should you decide not to run these classes, but its totally your call....

There was 28 - 1/8's in Calgary and about 20 - 1/10 gas trucks.
this last weekend if that helps at all.

Thanks....Don

7.5 Man. We will run gas truck but not sure on the 1/8th. We don't run the class here but if there is enough interest or pre registration for the 1/8th we will run it. The race is afew months away so we'll have to wait and see. Be cool if you did come down to the Fall Classic. I hope to make it to your race all depends on my work schedule. TTYL, DOUG

Default Just a note

I believe that we should not bend or make any exceptions to rules and track layout (jumps, straight away etc.) to accommidate the larger cars. The layout and jumps should be left as they are throughtout the event, and the Track should be maintained by local club members. Unless a huge issue presents itself (such as a jumps falling apart after only one round), the track should be left as is.

Speaking of jumps, where do we want to put the next one and what should it be ??????? If enough show up on Saturday, then maybe we'll get it under construction.

see ya Sunday

Doug how did you finish ?? How was the event ??

Default I think a banked corner would also be a good idea

maybe at the end of the long straightaway.....but maybe done in a maner so that it doesn't act as a jump to see how far up the hill we can put our vehicles

I don't want to step on any toes but I think something should be said about the feeling I am getting from the club and doing work on the track.....I know of a couple of people who are scared to do things on the track cause it is sort of dougs track and we know that he had some good ideas on where to put jumps and bumps....and some of us are kinda new at the off-road scene so we don't know what works well and what doesn't......I know i am a liitle hessitent about going out and doing stuff

anyways no biggy guy's just thought I would unload a little..I would like to see us starting to really get this track and this club going again
