Despite no lap scoring and only a few drivers, we actually had a good day's racing yesterday. Three Mod Trucks, five assorted buggies and six stock trucks. Not bad at all.

I think Ken (B3) won in buggy, from R.J. (B4), Giuseppe (XXX), Jason (B4) and Rob Lion Jr (XXCR - stock).

Mod Truck was Giuseppe's turn to win (T3), from Ken (T3) and Ren (XXX-T)

Stock Truck saw Blain take a well deserved win, with Ren 2nd in the slowest RC10T ever, ahead of April (T3), Rob Lion Sr (RC10T), Aaron (Rustler) and Jason Melnyk (Rustler - DNS)

Now let's get a BIG turnout next time and the racing will be fantastic.

I had a blast all day guys not just racing but watching as well..can't wait to get out there again...I guess I better start cleaning the truck so that it will be nice and fresh for the competitiion

Blain, as you know the old RC10T was not exactly setting the track on fire ! I tried changing the motor, and also the receiver, but it didn't help. All I've done now is change to an old Tekin F-10 speed control. The motor is a two and a half year old "Chrome", although I'm looking for an original P2K which will suit the 10T's high gearing a little better. It's a heavy truck compared to the more modern composite chassis trucks like the T3, so I don't expect to be blowing anyone away with it - but it'll make you work a little harder than last week ! (You were coming up to lap me for the SECOND TIME on that last lap !)

The RC10T was supposed to be for sale - but now I've had to put more electrics in it I can't sell it for what I've got "into" it - so I guess I'll play with it for a while until I can get it's own speed control repaired.

But I am going to try to find a slightly quicker mod motor for the XXX-T....that 17 single was (IMO) slower than a stock motor on the straight ! (But it did have the acceleration to get me over the doubles...sometimes.)

Cool

Jason (Melnyk), I hope your Krypton motor will be in on Saturday. However, do 'phone before you make the trek down to the North Shore to make sure it is in.

Cool Kamloops Update

Beautifull evening at the track tonight. Not a breath of wind. Got the rest of the pipe, carrying the coax, burried underground and the window marked out to be cut.

Also, met with the City this morning and they will be dumping a load of gravel off for us to be spread around the weeded area in front of the On-Road drivers stand. We need to get this area leveled off a bit and get the pieces of broken ashphalt out of there before we put down the fabric and spread the gravel. Anyone who is not busy, please feel free to start leveling this area and pick out the ashphalt. If you need access to shovels, rakes, etc., please let me know.

Help from the City in terms of supplying BIG cement blocks as a base for a drivers stand is a No. They cost $200 each delivered and we would need 30 of them. You do the math......LOL I have however, calculated the price to build a drivers stand and it will probably cost just under $1000. Work to begin on this project, hopefully sometime around the 19th of July. Will keep you all posted. I know it seems like it will never get built but people get busy with family and work and especially in the summer time....... Thanks all for your patience.

See you all soon,

It's OK, Brent - we all know about demands on our time. I'm amazed at the amount of time you DO manage to give to the club.

Post RE: Driver's Stand

Brent

My current schedule puts me on a Mon-Fri shift so that will leave my weekends open to do whatever. I plan to get out to the track sometime before the next race day to smooth out the track and repair the jumps.

Please drop me an email if you're heading to the track, I should be able to help.

Great.....conflicting schedules....looks like I won't be able to get out there much before the next race. Surprise Grad Party tonight for Irene for completing her ECE course, family thing with her family tomorrow and then back to work on Sunday Looks like maybe thursday or friday for me but that doesn't work for you. Oh well, no worries. I have to be out there when the gravel is dumped so as to show them where I would like it. Will know for sure a little later on in the week so maybe some of you guys who aren't working or are not in school might be able to lend a hand at the end of the week?

Thanks and will keep in touch,

Default Driver's stand???

Just wondering when we're looking at to start Construction I have some time off early in July (second week), and all the weekends off. I will be very willing to help rain or shine with few or many.

Brent...Can you swing anything in the way of wood from Work? We can do it as a porch type with decking (2X4's) and so railing stuff. I'll willing to chip in abit to help in getting what we need. This club need to get back on its feet, and therefore back on the map. The Fall Classic should be one on everyones schedule as an event not to miss in the summer season.

Lets start getting feedback from the coast about numbers and classes, the sooner we know the more we can do to accommidate everyone.

I'm willing to do all the numbers as to who's comin and who's not. I just need to know who to talk to and there emails.

Cool

Next race is July 6th...and I will probably be there ! But I will miss the race on July 20th (rallying), and then be back for the Riverside race on July 27th. With luck, I'll make all the remaining race dates, as they conveniently fall on "off" weekends.

How about a roll call for this weekend ? Who's going to be there, and running which classes ?
