Arrow Good evening gentlemen...

Not to toot the Edmonton horn too much but I would like to direct your attention to the RCRE website for updated construction pictures of the new off-road track.

This track could not, and out right would not, exist without major support from our on-road brothers in NASCAR and especially Terry Pickrel. Terry has gone above and beyond to procure machinery and operators to push BIG piles of dirt around. Thank you Terry, Thank you.

They actually changed that rule so everyone weighs in with the transponder in the car. Big stink about that last year.

Are the minimum weights the same whichever type of transponder you run? E.g. I heard that the min. for touring with a pt is 1515gms. Is it the same for an old type or....??
Thanks.

Inferno....no matter what the benefit, $6,000 is beyond most R/C clubs, especially when each club member will then have to get his/her own transponder too. The old system wasn't perfect (not by a long shot), but at least we can afford it.

Ren, Yes 6 grand is a lot of money. But our old syatem is on its last legs. Thanks to the dedicated work of some club members and the fact that we are a registered society we were able to get a govt grant . (YEH ALBERTA LOTTERIES) Other wise the new system would have been way out of reach. We purchased some rechargeables for those who do not wish to purchase personal transponders.

I'm not saying it is a must but I would say it is nice to have,I do know they do trade in on old systems to upgrade and you do not have to have your own transponder to use the system. The new system uses digital transponders that look identical to the old ones yet 1-10 id is picked up on it's own transponder id # which is a 7 digit number. Both banks of transponders in the cradel (charger bank) are 1-10 still but each one is specific and unique.
Eg.#5 yellow cannot be used if #5 blue is the one the computer says to use since it will only pick up #5 blue's id #.
People can use personal transponders which is great especially if tracking down last driver is a problem.
I should repeat tho it is not needed to get the new system since the old one still works.Did I mention tho that the new system works thru Windows?New software upgrade I think can be done with old version as well.

Default Racing in the LOOPS :)

Hey Guys in the Interior !

Racing gets underway this weekend on a hopefully nice day at our new track. Racing should be good, but the more the merrier as some members will be away for the weekend. I'm egar to see what you guys that raced in Coquitlam can do and just how competitive the racing in the series will be.

Was there any trucks there ?? I will be pushing trucks as my major focus for the summer, if there won't be any then I may be a little reluctant to travel out of town.

A note to all the guys here in Kamloops, cross your fingures for a nice sunny day on every sunday for the rest of the summer, we're gonna need the sunny to bring everyone out every week. I also have the final results along with the prizes to be handed out by myself in place of Ren. So if you want your prize you better be there (there is something for everyone who came out every week).

I expect to see every out on Sunday sporting shorts, T-shirt, hat and a cool pair of shades ready to play in the dirt.

I plan to run my truck and a Losi XXX, and hopefully have another T3 ready for April to race; so you guys in Novice (stock truck ??) better watch out, the "bettle" is coming for you (but not this weekend, no time to paint ). Its gonna be great!!!!

See you all Sunday,

Jason

Default P.S.

just a note about the prizes....

The prizes in question are for the Pancar series, and there will be a few questions about next year and possible a new sponsor for the Series.

Remind me if I forget to ask everyone, there are a few things that need to be considered to keep the series running and to keep the caliber of prizes high.(cars,batts,motors.....)

later

Default who's comin, who's not ??

Hey

I was just wondering who is coming and who isn't. I think that it will be a fairly small turn with only a few classes, unless there are a lot more people coming out than I know about. I've only been considering local "club" guys, no newbies or out-of-towners.

Please say yeh or neh as to whether you're comin.
I would like to be able to know little ahead of time so I know which motors to get ready. Plus I may have to find a bodyshell for April if there is only gonna be one truck race.

See ya all on Sunday

Jason

re "a little notice would be nice", we said a long time ago we would try to have the prizes available by the first outdoor race. We're rushing them out to try and live up to that.

Hopefully I'll see you all at the second race....

O.K.....well.....maybe a little reminder then......... I too will have a little something for the top 10 drivers in the Pro-10 series! Hope to see many of you there.

Ren.....which second race do you mean? This weekend's 2nd race or the one after this weekend's (actual hopefully) real race? As far as I know, your crew is going to be "ripin it up" in your rally cars this weekend....right?

Anyway, Saturday is looking good, weather wise anyway, for our work party, with a slight chance of showers for our race on Sunday. Hey....we all know that our track can take the water......but let's hope for a rain free weekend! Did everyone get their newsletter? Please let me know as Chris had troubles opening his.

Is anyone planning on running their Touring Cars on Sunday? If we have a low number then maybe we should just concentrate on the off-road track. We still have to cut a window in the race control shack and run wire underground to the loop, just to be able to run races on the asphalt. Something to think about. I think we want to get the back border finished off on the off-road track so we don't have to keep chasing cars around down there. I have "aquired" lots of plywood and braces so with a little help, we should be able to get that back wall finished.

That's it for now.....see you at the track!
