And for 12th scale, it would be fantastic to see just 1 class, of 19turns !!

Anyway to make this happen?
I really don't get it...you want less classes by not allowing brushless but you want to make a new 1/12th scale class??

Something is wrong there...

I think Stu was trying to say drop 12th stock, and mod. Replace the 2 with a 12th 19 turn spec class.

Ophidian,
you'll have to excuse these two Edmonton boys (2QCK2C & Safaridog) they're cute but not all that bright!!! LOL

My final word on the series (for today!!) Classes should be Mod TC with a 10 turn limit, Stock TC with locked endbell and bushings, 1/12 mod and 1/12 19 turn. It is painful to watch 8 minutes of 1/12 stock, unless Stoneham is running then it's fun to watch a perfect line.

Default 1/12 stock or 19 turn

I will put the suggestion forward to the other club reps tonight. Myself I think that a 19 turn motor would last the season where in the past it seems like there is a new hot stock motor out every week. A 19 turn motor I would think will help keep costs down and that is good for everyone !

Default Cash Prizes ?

THIS IS MY OPINION AND MY OPINION ONLY ! but I would not like to see cash prizes awarded in a series like this. If the hosting club wants to do it that is fine but as a series not now or ever. I would suggest that if there was cash on hand for something like that it should be spent on draw prizes or something for everyone or better yet for the begginers who would appriciate it the most.
My 2 cents

Just to clear up one of my last posts.
1/12 mod will stay and stock could maybe changed to a spec class with a 19 turn Chameleon motor. There would still be 2 1/12 classes sorry if I confused anyone more than I confused myself

The race is being held at the Air museum November 28-30.
I don't have the exact address but it is beside NAIT , Kingsway Garden Mall, and The City Center Airport. There is 2 hotels very close bt and I believe that we are trying to work out a deal with one of them for a reduced room rate.

John John John

What era you in no such thing as Stock motors with locked endbell now, all current ones have endbells that come off so you can take out arm and use a lathe.

Unless you want us to find some old Mabuchi 540 motors. Think Don at ModelLand just got some in as a matter of fact to sell dirt cheap to newbies.

I know Ian agrees with the no-cash prizes, we've talked about it several times and I agree completly.

I like draw prizes better myself as, like you said then the beginers have a chance of winnign things instead of the TQ winners that have most of the best stuff already.

I have not looked at this thread in awhile ... and maybe I missed something when I just browsed it over ...

But ...

Why are brushless motors not allowed in mod? There is absolutely no advantage in a 5 minute heat ... the only advantage would be run-time in longer heats.

BTW . . . I a m t y p i n g v e r y s l o w f o r b o t h JJ a n d Gary t o u n d e r s t a n d . . .
