Hey

If you guys are looking for some good pointers for airbrushing check out the CFX tutorials at http://www.rctech.net/forum/painting...video-cfx.html.

This truck painting idea is brilliant and will look really cool on the track.

See you Sunday.

Was fustrated last night not having anytime to work on my hobby for the last 3 weeks. Locked myself in the basement with the dog and built my new m05 and threw another set of gears into the m03.

With almost a year of tweaking on the m03 it will be interesting to see how a box stock m05 stacks up.

On my m05 I have the following setup:

weight: 1260g
front shocks: 40wt oil, 3 hole, 2 rubber washers inside and on top of the bladder, red spring.
Rear Shocks: 40wt oil, 3 hole, 2 rubber washers inside and on top of the bladder, blue spring.

m05 Weight Ratio (1260g total):
Front : 654g (51.9%)
Rear : 606g (48%)

m03 Weight Ratio (1202g total):
Front : 817g (68%)
Rear : 385g (32%)

Has anybody else noticed that the weight difference front to rear between the m03 and m05 is drastically different.

As I just built my car has anybody tried to put more weight forward on the m05 chassis? if so what have you noticed?

You betcha!! The dog was there to guard the door against outside distractions and intruders.

Sometimes you have to take extreme measures to eliminate all the many distractions in your life.

The balance on the M-05 is certainly a little different than the 3. It still feels like a mini, but with a quirk or two. Rear tires are even more critical, but some of the M-03 combos work. S grips up front and 3Racing at the rear is good. S-grips all around can work, too.

As for weighting, I'm not using any at all. My setup is S grips and 3Racing. Mike is running on RP Take Off tires (sticky little gumballs) and found adding a bit of weight helped quite a bit.

I would say that overall the car is better balanced than the M-03, although sometimes you'd swear you were driving an M-04, as it needs balancing through the faster corners.

The steering reacts a bit quicker, so you'll need to turn your dual rate down 10-20%.

Later,
Jim
