On last nights show. The Professor likes orange, Mr. DNF makes smoke and horse shoes were thrown. Welcome everyone, last nights racing was epic with great battles in every class. Smack talking was at all time high and the horse shoe event was interesting and dangerous all at the same time. Nothing is better than racing and a chance of getting maimed by an errant horse shoe. Now let’s get to the action.

Touring Stock B Main (By Blaine):

After passing his homeowners electrical inspection first try, Blub was shining brightly and emitting a happy glow while sitting on pole position. Who Can, King Kwong, Stick Man, Slow as F**K, Small Scale, and Butterfly all lined up behind him looking to shatter his dreams when the wheels rolled forward. Eight short laps were all it took until Bulb’s focus moved onto a corner dot and out of site. Who Can had a rough first lap where he dropped to the middle of the pack and was forced to drive hard to keep his position against Slow as F**K. Slow as F**K recently learned that he needed to change his gearing to be more competitive, so like a good student… He didn't’ listen and would lose meters on the drag race down the straight. Small Scale was driving exceptionally well and was happy with the way he was able to tag each and every board. At the beginning of the night he stated that he wanted to use all the track to get his money’s worth, so he can mark that goal off his bucket list! Butterfly is improving each week, and this week was no exception, he was briefly up into third place when he realized he was out of his cocoon and dropped like a rock. King Kwong’s training on Skull island was really paying off as he swatted cars out of his was to head to the leader board. Killing Stick Man and Stomping on Bulb’s confidence he claimed victory!

Results: John “King Kwong”, Shawn “Stick Man”, Tim “Bulb”, Gordon “Slow as F**k”, “Ian “Who Can”, Matt “Small Scale”, Dave “Butterfly”

Touring Stock A Main:

If speed was to your liking, we had that in spades last night. The touring stock A main filled with state of the art machinery, skill and speed, and of course Cal was also present. The line was strong with Scat Man up front, followed by Mr. DNF, Minnie King, Grande, The Mechanic, One Lap, and Fat Stacks. On the tone we had clean start with top four guys pulling out a bit of a lead. Mr. DNF and Minnie King were locked in an epic battle. Grande thought “I want in on the fun” and put on his big boy pants and challenged Minnie King. The two made slight clean contact and Grande was through, and Minnie King ended up on his lid. With this carnage Scat Man was able to extend his lead slightly on Mr. DNF, whom after his pit row fireworks was going well. Mr. DNF, like the Phoenix rose from the ashes and set after Scat Man. The Mechanic, One Lap and Fat Stacks were locked in a tight battle. Fat Stacks was still testing his all new esc’s, motors and tires. Rumour has it he used, two cars, three motors and six sets of tires in fours rounds but to no avail. The Mechanic was sly and stealthy and smoothly put his car into third with One Lap in pursuit. Alas, The Mechanic forgot to work his magic on the car and it let him down, he was out. One Lap and Fat Stacks were locked in a tight dance, both had their ballet shoes on were reminiscing about Swan Lake, however they were both caught with their tutus down when the leaders passed them over and over and over, bringing their cars home in forth and fifth. Minnie King was coming back through the field and had Grande in his sights. Grande was so nervous that at that time there was excrement smell filling the room. Scat Man had a smile on his face as it was a lovely fragrance that only he could appreciate. This Minnie King Grande battle was like a high stakes poker game, where Minnie King had four Aces and Grande had nothing. Grande decided to fold and partake in an extra foam on his Latte as the Minnie King was through. Minnie King was trying to catch Mr. DNF, but alas Mr. DNF decided that was enough and the car pulled to the side with technical gremlins and was out. Scat Man could finally relax and not worry about flushing his chances away and took the win.

Results: Kerry “Scat Man”, Walter “Minnie King”, James “Grande”, Blaine “One Lap”, Ivan “Fat Stacks”, Cal “Mr. DNF”, Trevor “The Mechanic”

12th Scale A main:

The rare and nearly extinct species of race cars were back for a second week. Apparently, the sanctions have been working and the illegal poaching of this elusive 12th scale creature is nearing an end. Up front we had The Professor, followed by Speed, Maverick, and The Mechanic. Scientist and the Green Goblin were non-starters. On the tone The Professor pulled out a small lead in the first couple of corners. On the straight Speed’s superior acceleration pulled The Professor like he was tied to a stone. Speed, shrugged off the exam the Professor was giving, and was through. The Maverick, closed his visor, kicked in his after burner and was closing in on The Professor. The Professor laughed and sent young Maverick back to detention to think about his challenging the Professor’s lecturing. The Mechanic did not have the tune correct and was being simply out horse powered. The car will require further tuning and a motor upgrade to compete with these mod boys. He came home in fourth. Back up front Speed was putting on a clinic and came home first. The Professor was thinking about his next lesson plan and had to settle for second. Maverick was just on a training mission doing high altitude orbits and stall recoveries bringing his car home in third.

Results: Tommy “Speed”, Jim “Professor”, Benny “Maverick”, Trevor “The Mechanic”

Touring Mod A main (By Blaine):

The Pinnacle of the touring stock RC car class was the mod drivers event. Drivers were keen to show their skills and fast motors by pulling their triggers all the way to the back and holding for mega turbo. Usually on the first lap everybody takes it smooth and easy however this evening everyone was in a rush to win. The biggest mover was The Beard, after three corners he moved up three positions and was sitting in second place. Unfortunately, his dreams of going from mid pack to first were smashed when the wind blew and his beard flew up causing him to lose sight of his car for a split second thus misjudging the corner and parking his car, dropping all the way to last place. After a few laps were recorded in the mod event Professor, Speed and Hobby Shop were all in a hard battle for second. The first to drop off the pace was Hobby Shop as he heard Fat Stacks say “$100” to the first guy to let me pass. Professor, also heard this payout offer and promptly acquired a body tuck to drop him down to third. The new leader Speed was under pressure by Mr DNF when he made a rare mistake that had his car trying a vertical lift off for some drone racing. Unfortunately, as he was flying through the air he discovered he could not control the car and crashed right into a pit table sending tires, tools, and coke onto the track. A caution was called, and cars came to a crawl… Except Professor who took advantage of the caution and jumped from 3rd to first in the blink of an eye. When the caution was cleared and the high speed action continued, Fat Stacks hit the new wet area on the track and immediately lost traction and spun 1080 degrees down the straightaway. Maverick was talking to Slow as F**K before the race and decided to employ Slow as F**K’s moto to a successful last place finish.

Results: Jim “Professor”, Erwin “Hobby Shop”, Cal “Mr DNF”, Ivan “Fat Stacks”, Matt “The Beard”, Benny “Maverick”, Tommy “Speed”

Touring Mod

Seasoned veterans and new racers all graced the carpet at car car for some Mod racing action! Looking for a major challenge Speed started from the back of the pack while Maverick started on started in front followed by Trevor and Fresh Z. The race started with beautifully clean laps by everyone as they all settled in with visions of glory and dreams of returning to their wives to claim their victory “prize”. Fresh Z’s was the first to realize that no “prize” was within his immediate future as his erotic swaying motion on the stand ended as his car split into pieces. Maverick and Mechanic drove with a confidence of a warrior at the back of the battlefield. Mechanic was called up the ranks and with excitement squirted into a corner and watched Maverick drive off. Speed was enjoying his Sunday drive except from the pressure of the clock. 1 minute left he turned up the turbo and sent Maverick a “better luck next time” card as he went home to his family a winner!

Finishing order
Tommy “Speed”, Benny “Maverick:, Trevor “Mechanic”, Zach “Fresh Z”

Touring Stock B

Our local B main heroes Fat Stacks and Thriller were off to WCICS to try and bring home some bowling trophies. This opened up the opportunity to b’q for the field. Slow is Fast and Ian were hungry for the position having each won a qualifier! When they rolled up to the starting line it was Ian with the biggest smile as he started on pole followed by Bulb, Kracker, King Kwong, Slow is Fast, and Wheels. In racing they say you can not win a race in the first Corner but you can lose it… Ian forgot the saying and turned 90 degrees and drove straight into the boards before the first turn, the rest of the field passed him as he tried to recover his dignity. Like a seasoned professional Kracker took advantage and passed two people to jump up into the lead position on his first night out! Kracker was driving smooth and staying off the boards because he knew if he if he hit anything his kyosho was going to explode! Back in the pack Bulb and King Kwong we're trading paint and having a Canadian standoff. Slow is Fast’s car was much better than last week when he was like bike on deerfoot. This week he had the speed.. Next week he’ll add more skill. Wheels’s car improved over the night and was easier to drive. However since he sits below the track he's at a major disadvantage and would have preferred a 13 a main 1 b main split.

Finishing order

Tim “Bulb”, Cameron, “Kracker”, Ian “Who Can”, John “King Kwong”, Gordon “Slow is Fast”, Scott “Wheels”

Touring Stock A main: (By Walter)

Some say that the January 31 st full moon was almost a super moon. We assume that this astronomical event had some kind of super powers, as the pole sitter was The Matador, yes that is right The Matador was set to start up front. We can assume that even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in while. This is not fake news he actually earned the position, we think. Following this highly dubious event, that had us all speechless, we had the Scat Man, Minnie King, The Mechanic, One Lap, and Fresh Z. Before the tone The Matador was trembling and sweating like a crack head waiting for the next score. On the tone everyone got away clean, with The Matador, Scat Man and Minnie King trying to get the lead in the first few corners. The Matador preformed the check up technique trying to force the Scat man to make a blunder, but the result was a Matador body tuck. This ensuing contact caused the pack to get bunched up. One Lap tapped the Minnie king who was turned around and everyone was through. One Lap and
The Matador were battling hard allowing the very stealthy Mechanic to take advantage and sneak into the lead. The Scat Man and Minnie King got it together dispatched The Matador and One Lap and were chasing the Mechanic. The Scat Man received some splash back and while wiping it off the Minnie King was through. The Minnie King was slowly winding The Mechanic in but decided to test the durability of the boards and was out. Scat Man was still thinking about his thrown allowing everyone to pass him over and over and over. This allowing One Lap and The Matador through to battle it out. The Matador seeing red from the constant taunting, put his head down and swept his leg and gave One lap the horns. One Lap giggled with delight allowing The Matador to pass. The Matador was shaking so bad that we thought he was having a possible seizure, so everyone wanted to give him distance. A little further back Fresh Z was laying in wait, as he could see all the carnage that was going on up front. Setting consistent
smooth laps allowed him to pass The Scat Man who was still gazing into the porcelain god’s eyes. The Scat Man was so stunned by this, that he turned off the suck for a split second and went around Fresh Z for settle in for fourth. It is important to note that the Scat Man lived up to his name and flushed his finishing record away. Fresh Z brought his car home in a solid fifth, nice effort. Up front the Mechanic was running smooth and consistent, his voodoo had the car working well, and wouldn’t be denied the win. The Matador’s luck ran out, possibly due to the shakes or the pressure One Lap was laying down, but he had to settle for second. One Lap rocked his car home in third a great result for the lack of respect he received in the heat. What Can be concluded from this Super Moon theory and The Matador is that there must be special powers at work as what else can explain this result hmmmmmmm.

Results: Trevor “Mechanic”, James “The Matador”, Blaine “One Lap”, Kerry “Scat Man”, Zach “Fresh Z”, Walter “Minnie King”

Friday night the weather outside was terrible. Road’s were icy, cars were stuck and vehicles were needing real marshals to get out of their driveways. However, that’s not enough to stop the excitement and laughs inside the Calgary Horseshoe club.

A Main Mod

Qualifying was completed under the yellow lights of the Horseshoe club and found a new Driver sitting in pole position, The Arrow! First mod race night and he topped the charts, followed by Professor, Fat Stack, Speed and The Beard. As the race rolled into motion The Professor consulted his charts to see a Bear market had formed on lap 3 a perfect crashout scenario. While The Arrow’s arrow pointed to the bottom of the pack Fat Stack, Speed and The Beard all took advantage for a few cycles until Speed pressed his luck as his received a early margin call forcing him to leave the track. The Beard embarrassed Fat Stack when we made an under the table deal forcing Fat Stack to scramble for last minute investors. This lady luck on his side (and a call to Trump) the market changed and he able to cashout with enough cash to pay for his marching band to play “3rd place in club racing and I will brag about it for weeks.”

Finishing Order
Jim “The Professor”, Bryce “The Arrow”, Ivan “Fat Stacks”, Matt “The Beard”, Tommy “Speed”

Mod B Main (By James)
The slowest of the fastest friday night saw 3 cars start hoping for a bump up to play with the big kids in the Amain. It never happens but nobody told them differently. On pole not "the pole" was Hobbyshop(erwin) followed by Maverick (benny) and the Mechanic (trevor). At the sound of the tone finely tuned race cars shot down the straight with glory insight. Hobbyshop broke out to an early lead with maverick making an early mistake tapping a board allowing the mechanic to sneek through. Maverick said no way Val Kilmer wanna be and spun mechanics car in a tail roost worthy of top gun. Hobbyshop had no problems with the dogfight going behind him and put in consistant lap after consistant lap. Maverick did his best to keep the pressure on with the mechanic in hot pursuit. The mechanic drove well and did everything to catch maverick but took a liking to the first corner and gave it a love tap over and over and over and over. In the end all 3 cars finished how they started and on equal laps with each other. An uneventfull but pretty entertaining display of mod touring car racing. (I thought so anyways)!!
Finishing order was...Hobbyshop (erwin)...Maverick (benny)...the Mechanic (trevor).

Euro Truck A Main ( By James )

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages...friday night brought the long anticipated inaugural Euro Trucks to carcar's premier track. A full field of...of 4 trucks would take to the black carpet with hopes of first bragging rights. The line up of these mighty machines would be 3 vetrans and a allstar fill in driver. On pole was ahh who cares followed by maverick(benny)and ringer...arrow(bryce) driving a handfull and Tommy Speed. The tone had the trucks blast down the straight and 14seconds later they entered the first corner. Speed made and early move and the Arrow soiled himself allowing Speed to put Mavericks afterburners in sight. 2 corners later and 30 seconds Speed drafted Mavericks wall of air and left him to wonder why goose never had his back. Up front we had Fat Stacks driving like a sunday parade in drum. Speed was having none of it and quickly put himself on the bumper of the leader. Few dips and taps later Tommy was away and Fat Stacks had no choice but to plow him. Honourably Fat Stacks waited for Speed to right himself which allowed Maverick and Arrow back through. And this was the first lap!! Speed had enough of the childs play and put his foot to the floor and squeezed the throttle and put himself back where he knows what to do...lead races. 2 laps later it was all over but for the remainder of the podium. FatStacks running a questionable motor fan and certainly cheater flag stabalizer was unable to catch the smooth burning marlboro machine of benny and would have to settle for 3rd. The Arrow driving a truck that had no buisness being in a race rounded 4th 34 laps back. This was a standing room only event and I encourage the rest of you to get yours ready for the excitement of Euro Truck racing. Miniking and Cal will be too busy poping moneymatixs back together anyways
Finishing order was....Tommy Speed...Maverick (Benny)....FatStacks (Ivan) and Arrow (Bryce) guest driving James's epileptic seizure

Touring Stock A Main

Each week it’s harder and harder for the fast guys and Cal to make the “A” main. This week was no exception with (2) new faces making their first appearance. Slow is Fast’s hard work ethic, video review, data logging, tire warming, and coaches all worked together to have him starting in 7th. Cobra’s second race night found him improving dramatically over last week and was sitting 3th in the A. The full grid was Matador, One Lap, Cobra, Ken, King Kwong, Fresh Z and Slow is Fast. On the tone everyone went around the track at warp speed. Ken’s navigation system failed after (1) lap and warped into “Bernie’s Wall of havoc”. (Sorry ken, even though you only finished (1) lap, you can not have my nickname). Cobra and One Lap had Matador in their sights as they performed the High Yo-Yo where One Lap dropped to last place Cobra quickly followed. Fresh Z had recently returned from a training mission and was making his mission commander proud with a scissor maneuver on King Kwong. King Kwong was scared soo much by this that he quickly went back to his cave to stay out of harm's way.

Finishing Order:
James “Matador”, Blaine “One Lap”, Gordon “Slow is Fast”, Zack “Fresh Z”, Cameron “Cobra”, John “King Kwong”, Ken “Thriller”

Touring Stock B Main

After spending the week building the most impressive pokemon deck they could find, Bulb, Who Can, The Mechanic, Butterfly, Wheels and Pulse all stood up to challenge for the title of pokemaster. Wheels was quick to face off with his Greninja GX’s special Typhoon move that left him in a precarious position. Butterfly tried his Blastoise’s Slash bomb and collected Pulse with a Rapid Spin. Bulb didn’t know what was going on has he was just there for the free chips. Who Can and The Mechanic forgot their decks and instead raced rc cars.

Finishing order:
Trevor “Mechanic”, Ian “Who Can”, Tim “Bulb”, Scott “Wheels”, Dave “Butterfly”, Jordan “Pulse”

Depending on Stock/Mod.

13.5 stock CRC Spec Lilac Tire. But purple front yellow rear will work. The new Blu compounds work too. Just glue your front sidewalls to stop traction rolling. Wcics is spec tire for stock, club and ATS are open tire.
