Default Magazine Report Out Now

XRC Magazine report on Winter Nationals is Out.

I bought the copy this morning and its kickin.

Check it out at your local mag retailer and post back what you think.

I think it was a great read and also there is a report on Team G Force on page 49. That two is a great read.

Hope to see some posts soon,

Just got it... have to say im not exactly stoked about it...

Couple of good shots, but other than that not enough race coverage... no mention of Team G Force...

Buddha Timmies is on you for Skinny...

In the end there is no bad press so it will help spread the word...

Gord, Skinny asked the organizers how they wanted it presented. They wanted it presented as a race with a great atmosphere. That's what it is anyway. Yes we take our racing pretty seriously but it's alot more relaxed than alot of the "big" races in the States. This race is a time to come together and have some fun with some racing tossed in.

From that perspective, I thought it was a great article. Show's this race in a great light. I really hope he comes back next year. Maybe they'll give him a little more magazine to talk more about the racing as well as the event.

Yes it is a relaxed race... but its still a race and the race coverage was below average... the race is not below average so i thought there would race info...

Was there a group huge that i missed...?

With all the hissy fits the one " team driver " had i think it was little more serious than you might have thought it was...

I beleive the shipping containers are 12 feet tall and then there was a small platform on top of that. Feet were maybe 12'6".

The container is 8 or 8.5 feet tall and a 4x4 block of wood under it. It is 8 feet wide and 40 feet long. You were close on the dimentions Scott, just off by a little bit

Ok, I was a little busy that weekend to "really" pay attention to that. Thanks for correcting me Kevin.

Being someone in the shipping industries I can tell you that all standard dry containers come in two sizes of 8'6" and 9'6" as normal use containers. There are of course exceptions to the rules with specialty equipment or companies that have specifically designed containers for their product but for the general use of cargo for shipping overseas the most commonly used containers are 40' standard and 20' standard 8'6" high corton steel , dry containers.
Sorry to hi-jack the post but I just wanted to make sure you knew exact height. P.S. if your not sure which hight the can was you will know if it had black and yellow at the top with a (9'6") warning sticker.

Default Thanks!

Thanks guys - we are currently building our new track in Saskatoon and our existing driver's stand is 11' high! It feels like you're looking down on the track the whole time... Hard to get used to.

Hopefully when we get our top of the line facility built we will hold an invitational race! The Winternats were the first major race most of us Sask boys have attended. I think we learned alot about a higher calibre racing event. We're still telling goofy stories!
