Some years ago, this is how a typical night of 1/12 scale racing would go.
Pack up for an hour drive to the track, leaving around noon.
Set up the track, including two video cameras around the track.
Race all night, get to Boston Pizza around 11:00 PM.
Drive an hour back to one guys pad.
Re-live all that nights racing action (qualifiers and all) from TWO camera angles, resolving disputes about who took who out, in super slow motion.
Get home around 5:00 AM.
Re-live the racing action once more the next day while copying the racing from the camera onto tape for a permanent archive. You never know when a racing incident is going to come back to haunt you in the future, and the camera doesn't lie!
...And my wife thinks I spend too much time racing now. If only she knew what it was like before.
