#54. You know you're R/C obesessed when you are still watching movies of yourself racing at the 2006 Winter Nats 6 months later, and are already drooling over the anticipation of attending the 2007 race...

Some years ago, this is how a typical night of 1/12 scale racing would go.

Pack up for an hour drive to the track, leaving around noon.

Set up the track, including two video cameras around the track.

Race all night, get to Boston Pizza around 11:00 PM.

Drive an hour back to one guys pad.

Re-live all that nights racing action (qualifiers and all) from TWO camera angles, resolving disputes about who took who out, in super slow motion.

Get home around 5:00 AM.

Re-live the racing action once more the next day while copying the racing from the camera onto tape for a permanent archive. You never know when a racing incident is going to come back to haunt you in the future, and the camera doesn't lie!

...And my wife thinks I spend too much time racing now. If only she knew what it was like before.

Yeah, we do similar things in the spring before the track is ready... go bash all day, then sit at Tim Horton's watching the instant playback on the camcorder! One time we almost got kicked out because some old bag thought we were recording her working behind the counter! LOLOL.
