Default race results

We broke a record! This past weekend of 90 racers and nearly 150 entries were something that we could only dream about. I think I can speak for everyone in terms of how much fun we had on and off the track.

Thank you to all the racers that attended, local and travel. We know it may not be simple or cheap to attend. We hope to see you again, whether it’s here or at your tracks. Thanks for coming and having fun with the entire club!

Thank you to the RRR founders Eddie and Mario for continuing the tedious and tiresome work of keeping the racing, van, and track going. From my first time meeting them at Lansdowne Mall play nights in 2004 to now, these guys are here for real.

Thank you to the RRR crew for helping with event management, setup, teardown, and keeping the track in good shape.

Thank you to the volunteer RD: Bok Choi, Chuck, Edmond, Rob, Tiny. You made it very enjoyable for all of us. You each have a style different and more entertaining in your own way. It made racing even more exciting.

Our goal for this year was to have as many prizes as possible, and thanks to our generous donors and event sponsors, we had a very nice collection to choose from.

Unfortunately, we had to adjust lower mains from triple mains to double mains. We plan on having pre-registration to help plan better for next year. Our apologies for this, and thank you all racers for being ready to run all weekend!

Track preparation started with a lot more volunteers for the non-standard Friday night setup than we’ve had, very impressive. We were up and spraying in no time, allowing early campers to setup their pits and practice to go for a couple hours before dark.

We did multiple coats of traction spray, with a light coat Saturday morning to keep the traction more consistent, and it worked. Happy Hour Sunday Q4 did happen for some, but was much less apparent than previous years, as a lot of the final qualifying results had a wide range of round entry.

Qualifying was fairly relaxed pace racing, but what we didn’t expect, was for the Super Stock Touring class to rival Scale Spec for most entries. This gave our local racers a HUGE amount of competition and it made for great racing.

The Sunday Mains started perfectly on time after the group photo, and racing was underway.
Once again, the lower mains were adjusted to double-mains to allow the event to conclude at a reasonable time. Most racers felt that this was the best balance of time and racing when polled.

Each class, each group of mains, each nitro gauntlet provided the spectators a great show, and gave every racer the dose of adrenaline that a trophy race prescribes. There were no shortage of upsets, hero moves, emotions and smiles. The allowed bump spots gave racers a chance to make up for slower pace in qualifying, some great drives and multiple main bumps.
