Default 5/21 Club Race Results

Hi everyone!

Great start to the season - a nice easy going day with lots of practice (about 2 full hours), and a full 4 rounds of racing. We were very lucky to have this great weather.
We welcomed a few new racers to enjoy the hobby with us, and they were able to have a great race day with us.

Thank you very much to the morning setup helpers, without your help the race day would be much shorter. We setup in record time, about 1 hour for the track, and less than an hour to be done spraying and final touches.

A note for teardown, we will be posting more pictures and instructions for loading the van. Thank you also to the hard workers that stick around until the very end to load the van, as well as those that helped as much as possible.

We expect all racers to be a part of the setup and teardown process, and are deciding on the best way to make that happen. (shorter race day, higher teardown fees and other ideas are on the table)
This is a club, volunteer efforts all around. The racers that stay until the end have places to go and dinners to attend also. Please make an effort to help the track be ready for racing on time and for everyone to leave on time. Please bring ideas to us so that everyone is happy with how we run the race day.

Race results are attached below. Good close racing across the race heats, with the mass of racers expected once OGR season is finished. There's more fun, competitive racing ahead.
I'm working on finding a good spot for the GoPro as many wish to have the mains recorded. Unfortunately I forgot to take the lens cap for all the nitro heats... sorry!

Looked like a fun day. I couldn't go because I had to work that day. But next time I'm coming out.

We are racing tomorrow, Saturday.
Club race.

The forecast is not great, but we will build the track and have good racing when the track is dry.
We considered racing Sunday but the forecast is colder, and may affect people’s Fathers Day plans on short notice.

A couple hours of good racing and a couple hours of hanging out with the racers beats sitting at home and wishing I was racing.

Default 6/18 Club Race

We did it! We braved the weather!

Thank you to everyone that came to race, or to hang out, and wait out the rain. We were rewarded with sunshine, heat, and a full club race: 3 rounds of qualifiers and a round of mains.

Big big thank you to the setup crew for putting the track together quickly so that we could get practice going. Another big thank you for everyone that helped teardown. The track was torn down in a little over 15 minutes, with the longer process loading the van afterwards.
Hopefully the pictures are helping.

We had good racing for what we had. The car in the parking lot made for an interesting straightaway chicane. Congrats to everyone for making it out for a fun day, and for our continued growth and teamwork as a group of happy, friendly, competitive racers.

We had a close call when a guy went through the keyhole at the start of the chicane. Great save by the pilot in preventing damage to the Prius.

Attention!

Schedule change for this weekend!

It was supposed to be Saturday & Sunday but we are moving it to Friday & Saturday due to rain forecasted on Sunday.

Setup Friday AM, as usual. Hope to see you there!

Will be test and tune, with racing Friday afternoon, and Club Race Saturday.

This is your last chance to get your cars ready for Victoria Trophy Race Jul 9-10.

Default 7/2 Race Results

What a great weekend we had! Hope everyone got their cars dialed in, and their racing fill in. Sorry for the last minute schedule adjustment to Friday-Saturday, instead of Saturday-Sunday. It was worth it for the good weather.

Welcoming a few new racers to the club was spectacular. 60 drivers, 75 entries. Extremely healthy for a club race, and we welcomed all the Friday morning setup help, as well as the Saturday teardown. Please continue to support your club by helping where you can. We did a great teardown on Saturday.

We are heading to Victoria for their trophy race this coming weekend. Next club race will be July 23rd. See you then.

Are there any reason that GT8 class has been eliminated? or just because too less entries?

GT8 turnout has 0.

I would love to see some again, but we need at least 5 to ensure proper marshalling.

I'm trying to get the others to jump in. So far, it's Albert, Robert, Bok, and myself. We just need one more.
