Default TC stock

If my vote has any value... I think TC stock should be 17.5. This is a nice “in between” from USGT to Mod, and seems like a good fit for that track

Good feedback Kyle. Your input always has value.

It takes 5 to make a class guys. At the end of the day, we are here to hold races for you - the racers.

Some experiments have worked for RRR in the past:
- Double Nitro B-Mains
- 1/8 Nitro GT
- Enduro Races
- Double-Header Days
- Designated Lunch runners
- Various Track Logistics

Some experiments at RRR have yielded less than spectacular results:
- Short Course class
- Euro Trucks
- Home-Made track sprayers
- Electric Foam Tire class

What's consistent through all this is the people who race continue to try new ideas. This is how the club continues to evolve and grow. Good on you Kyle! I personally feel that your feedback to RRR is appreciated.

Make sense to me ...we had a meeting for our SeaTac outdoor track last sat...Sound like ,it will be 17.5 Stock out door and 21.5 indoor..
I know TZ will be running 17.5 stock as well...

Definitely nice to get input! It's the perfect time for this kind of discussion.
Note, that Seattle uses 25.5 Scale Spec and 21.5 Stock indoors and we voted to keep scale spec and stock the same 21.5 locally at OGR.

A few factors were considered for the 21.5 motor in TC Stock at RRR this season:
  • Motor improvement, performance increase. The 21.5s we are racing today are faster than 17.5s of just a few years ago and are only getting faster.
  • Motor reuse. This allows those not always looking for new motors to reuse their indoor motor, and conversely reuse their old/new outdoor motor in the upcoming carpet season - a majority of our racers seem to enjoy this.
  • Time difference. The lap differences between scale spec 21.5 and stock 17.5 last year were almost 3 seconds, and the stock and mod difference was only about 1 second. Hopefully this will balance it a little.
  • Enter the modified class. If racers truly want to go faster, they should be confident in their stock racing, and move up into the modified class. This is where their driving skills will be challenged even more and improve along the way.
That said, some of the North American national races have the 17.5 TC Superstock class, formerly 13.5 boosted and then blinky. It may water down the TC classes and extend the race day in terms of time. So far, in the past years we have not needed a superstock class, as modified has been the go-to.

As Chuck mentioned, we are open to change and trials. 5 cars make a class, and we will run it if they come.

Second edit: we're taking this one to the polls to see what you/we as the racers want
Third edit: 21.5 has won the poll, if you want to go faster, run mod

Less than one week to go!

Note: TC Stock is 21.5 this season if you've missed it.

Default May 11 Race Results

We were fortunate to have great weather and turnout (51 entries) on our opening day. Thanks for coming out to help setup, race and teardown. It was a lot of fun to see a bunch of new nitro drivers, and to have a good start in the electric classes. We will continue to setup as much of the track as possible on Friday nights as it makes our Saturday morning go smoother.

No GoPro videos yet, as the track is too big for a prime video location, will be working on this.

Results attached, see you in two weeks!

June 8th next race!

A few of us went to Victoria yesterday for their club race. Lots of fun. If you're interested, we can organize another trip soon!

Default June 8 Race Results

Well, we managed to get 4 rounds of racing in! Rain delay after track setup was not well received, but the sun came out shortly and everything else went smoothly.

We had nearly everyone out for morning setup - Thank You! We will continue to try and setup Friday evenings, but if we don't have a crew big enough, it will be a Saturday AM task. Blowing the track Friday night as usual saves us about 45 mins.

Time to talk about the racing. We had over 40 entries, which is a good amount with the time we had. Lots of clean racing and entertaining battles. A lot of guys are starting to figure out nitro racing, and learning to be patient with traffic, this will get better as the season progresses.

We had to offset the track by about 2 stalls this race as a car was left parked in our race line, and almost everyone was affected by the bad crack on the left side. The hop and drift slide to the straight made things interesting if you took it too tight haha. Let's hope that car is gone next race!

Thank you to the racers who continue to stick around for tear down. The more help there is, the quicker it is done.

Next Race June 22nd. Reminder June 29-30 is supposed to be two days of club racing, but will depend if the demand is there, and decision of running June 30(Sunday) will be made at drivers meeting of June 29(Saturday).
