IROCC Speed Weekend 2018 Summer Onroad Asphalt Trophy Race - Victoria, July 7-8 2018


The Island Radio Operated Car Club (IROCC) in Victoria BC is pleased to announce its Speed Weekend 2018 Asphalt trophy race this summer. This year's event will be a two-day format with four rounds of qualifying and triple mains for everyone in all electric classes. The 10th Scale Nitro Sedan class will run single mains with bump-ups.


Race date: July 7-8, 2018


Classes:

Touring Stock
-17.5 motor, blinky ESC, 1350g

Touring Modified
-Open motor, open ESC, 1350g

Touring Nitro
-.12 engine, foam tires, 1650g

Scale Spec
-21.5 motor, blinky ESC, 1400g

Formula 1, Mini
-These classes are dependent on entry count


Touring Stock/Mod Rubber Tire Rules:
To keep costs down for everyone, there will be a two-set maximum for the Touring Stock and Touring Mod classes. In both classes, racers can choose their favourite brand/compound (Must be 32, 34, or 36 compound only), and our tech team will mark the tires. Only marked tires will pass tech. Racers must bring their own tires!

*** Kids and novice racers are exempt from tire rules.

Out of town racers (outside of Greater Victoria) get their 2nd (and 3rd) classes for free.

Saturday, July 8th
8:00AM - 11:30AM: Open practice and registration
11:30AM - 11:45AM: Drivers meeting
12:00PM - 6:00PM: Qualifying rounds (3 rounds with a resort after rounds 2 and 3)
6:00PM - 9:00PM: Open practice

Sunday, July 9th
8:00AM - 8:45AM: Open practice
9:00AM - 11:00AM: Last chance qualifier
11:00AM - 3:00PM: Mains

Washroom onsite

I had some racers asking about Friday evening practice. It depends a lot on the vehicles in our parking lot and track setup. Track setup starts at 6PM roughly. There *could* be some late-night practice laps from about 8:30PM until it gets dark, but official practice will open on Saturday morning at 8:00AM.
