Default Stockton Carpet Lives...Again

Yes, we are racing on carpet at the Stockton Fairgrounds.

This is a temp carpet track with racing approximately every other weekend through the winter. The actual race schedule is dictated by when a suitable rental building at the fairgrounds is available. The race promoter, Aaron, apparently has a great relationship with the fairgrounds management.

After tomorrow's race (Saturday, February 7), the next race day is scheduled for Sunday, February 22. The March schedule is not available yet; but, should be shortly.

The location is San Joaquin Fairgrounds, 1658 S Airport Way, Building 1, Stockton, CA 95206. This facility is near Charter Way which is an exit from both main Highways 5 and 99 that go north-south through Stockton.

Track doors are to open at 8:00 AM on race days. Race fees are: $25 for first class; $15 for second class; and free for a third class.

Best place to see the track's future schedule will be on www.rcracing.com. This website usually shows all r/c car events in Northern California. Otherwise, a 209 Raceway website is in the making.

Hope this helps. We had a great time practicing today. And tomorrow...we race.

Bill

Default Map of San Joaquin Fairground in Stockton, CA

This should help those that have not been to Stockton before. We are in Building 1 which is on the left side of the attached map.

Anyone in Northern California, if you are not far from Stockton, you should come check this out. Even if the drive is an hour and a half one way, this is worth it.

Traction is good
Race Program is excellent
Plenty of practice time
Sportsmanship is great

Gathering up racing gear to get back on the rug. Really looking forward to doing it again.
What classes of touring car are you running ? Foam or rubber tires ?

This would be his 10th time out of retirement! I don't think he can pass up the opportunity to run pancar!

I am loving the carpet again! It's the waiting till the next raceday!
