Talking Northern California Pan Car Revival

1/12 and Pro10 out at Speedworld in Roseville Ca. This Sunday September 28th gates open at 7am. I'm trying to get the ball rolling with the pan cars, if your in the neighborhood swing on by.

proposed classes -
1/12 - 17.5
1/12 - 10.5
pro10 - 13.5, 2s

Ripon Ca, I will post the next race date, we have a few 1/12 17.5 that will show up.

P1 in Ukiah is looking to put on a show for the 1/12 class, I will post the next race date here.

Norcal hobbies, anyone want to race 1/12

Hobbytown in Fresno, any 1/12 ??

Ground Pounders, think they had a 1/12 class at the last race, I missed it.

Thumbs up

NCPCR is Northern California Pan Car Revival. 1/12, GT12, GT10, Pro 10, WGT, F1. At this time we have a handful tracks that could have a class if enough drivers bring out their cars. Speedworld Raceway in Roseville, NorCal Hobbies in San Jose, Ripon Speedway in Ripon, Hobbytown in Fresno, Ground Pounders in Windsor or Rohnert Park, P1 Hobbies in Ukiah and Delta R/C Hobbies in Antioch. F1 is the biggest pan car class at this time, very fun to drive. 1/12 is slowly gaining ground, we had a 4 car 17.5 class in May at Ripon. Almost every car manufacture has a pan car kit. Be it a 1/10 WGT, 235mm, F1 or 1/12, GT12 the list is growing, Kawada even has the m500gt2r pan car running on TC rubber tires (this would be a SWEET class). I am a huge pan car fan and have been driving my 1/12 as much as possible. I am posting this as to encourage everyone to dust off their old pan cars or if they have been thinking about getting a new one to do so and get them on the track. It’s lonely being the only 1/12 here at Speedworld. I am also building a Pro10 – 235mm pan car (rc10L and a Twister Cyclone [FLASH BACK 80’s]). My proposed classes are as follows (just throwing them out there, specs can change at any giving moment):

1/12 – open, 1s
1/12 - 10.5, 1s
1/10 – wgt or 235mm, open, 1s - 2s ?
1/10 – wgt or 235mm, 10.5, 1s - 2s ?

The pan car is coming back! Prepare yourself…

Your input is greatly appreciated

At roadrunners in Camarillo, we run pro10 with 1s 10.5 boosted and they get around pretty good. I myself would like to see a blinky spec class. Maybe 2s 17.5. I played around with 1s 4.5t blinky and it was a really nice combo too. Really simple and smooth. I miss running my WGT and I have been seeing a lot of talk surrounding 200mm LMP/Rolex GT these days too. I'd say if you go open, definitely should be 1s. If you go 2s, 10.5 may be too much for most California tracks.

thank you, i would like to get down and race with you guys, maybe next season. I started with 13.5, 2s, blinky, spec wgt tires. runs great and pretty fast, speedworld is a big track and she gets around it pretty quick. still working on rollout and tire diameter for asphalt. once i get this at good running temp and my driving is up to par i'll go for the 10.5. I never ran boosted, smoked my 17.5 last sunday after my esc switch wires shorted, all of that stuff scares me, haha

Hobby Town Fresno we too are seeing a revival in pan cars. We have been get between four and five 1/12th scale cars. There is about six wgt cars but we haven't had a race yet after the first of the year we should have pancar racing.
