Just want to throw this out as next round of JBRL will be at OCRC. If anyone has a SCB or ultima DB lets try and get a SC buggy class going. Thinking of NT 17.5 for the class to keep it simple. If you have one you know how much fun they are so lets bring them out and have a race. I talked to Jimmy about it and he is cool with a write in class. We need 6-7 minimum to add the class. This will not be for money but bragging rights and if we can get enough going the next two races we may be able to add it to next year?

WOOO HOOO, I love these things...so much FUN!

Also, after running the SC nats in CT this past weekend, classes need to get simplified some I think so some discussion would be good. Timing classes run as fast as mod so why have them? Should be 17.5 NT and then Mod. Then we have more people in each class to compete with and its so much fun that way. Just some food for thought.

I agree...

The short course showdown used the same format and it kept the classes tighter and you had to earn your way to the A main.

Sure everyone wants to win but the turnout for some of these races were 75% or more will not even make the show are showing it is not going hurting turnout if limited classes are offered. People sign up for what is offered and do there best. I think that is the point. Get back to the old days where we had a Cactus with 70+ in the mod class. The finals of the Short course showdown are saying 120+ in the Pro-4 class alone.

I have to agree I feel the speeds of boosted stock are out of hand. Might as well run a mild mod. Last time I ran boosted stock I was within 3-5 seconds of the top mod guys for the night. Not slow mod guys either. Some of the top stock guys at Surf city were well on pace with Mod. Being a long time stock racer and loving the class I tend to agree it is time for the SS guys to just move on up to mod and put stock back to slower NT speeds. Still plenty of power to get around the track and have some good races. Something to think about.

Default Tentative SCB Entries for JBRL Round 7

Here are the people who have agreed to run 17.5 NT SCB for at least Round 7of JBRL at OCRC:

Keith Whisler
Ryan Dunford
Casper
Aaron Lane
Cody Turner

We only need one more to make a class, so bring out your buggies. It would be even better to see a couple full heats......

Lets build this list over the weeks leading up to the event and prepare to have some fun with the buggies. As Casper mentioned in a previous post, the Kyosho DB is also legal for this class as it's roll cage is an integrated part of the chassis (as is the Losi).

Round 8 at Hot Rod should have an even bigger SCB class since they currently have an active SCB class in their race program.......

Should be a great time......

The attached photo is the start of Heat #1 of NT SCB class at 2011 Short Course Nationals at RC Madness in Enfield, CT. There were 2 full heats of SCB (26 entrants in the class) at this event which happened to be the first "Big Race" that fielded an SCB class. Special thanks to Ross Mealey for the photo....

Count me in guys. I love my SC Buggy. We have a full class most weeks at Hot Rod but it is open (Pro Buggy) so most of us are running 8.5's and 10.5's. I will have to drop in a 17.5 for the JBRL but will do it in a heartbeat if we can get a class. See you all in a couple of weeks..

Sweet. From the responses I have so far we should have a full heat minimum!

Would love to break the SCB out for some 17.5 racing. Will have to see how things shake out the next few days.

The more the merrier. I think we have more then enough commiteed to have the class so if you get a chance to bring yours out we will have a class for them. I would love to get 2 full heats but we will take what we get. These things are so much fun to race!
