12th Scale Racing is Alive and Well in So Cal
#556

Hi guys. I'd like to know how can I put a thrust bearing on the axle of my s120 ltx. I tryed to put zen racing on (the short one) it but it seems the original axle of my serpent ltx it's too short, the nut can't lock properly.
Have you any idea on what i've to do?
Thank you so much
Gabriele

Hello, New to the modern 1/12 world. I have been browsing, learning about the 1S esc config in these chassis. I see on Trinity motors, they sometimes mark the Title/Description of a motor (d4 17.5) with a 1S. My question, are motors really 1S or 2-3S or is this a marketing thing.
Here is title from amain: Team Trinity D4 1S "Certified" Short Stack Brushless Motor (17.5T)
What does the 1S really mean? Or does it mean only use with 1S battery and ESC.
Thanks, Is there a good site for learning about motors and this type of motor question?

Motors should come with med or strong rotors
Weak rotors i.e "1s motors can run well given a decent setup, but are mostly outshined by motors with stronger motors
Bit of a generalization
Best to use what the majority of the locals run

Most of the 1/12th guys are running short stack motors with a tailored roll out. They seem to not fall off over the 8 min. run as to guys not running ss motors. From what I've seen first hand anyway.

I'm considering trying to get back into some 12th scale. My 1st attempt lasted a month...then I went back to school...now I'm done with school so back into RC (I missed it!).
I have a Lightning 12 that I ran once and a Tamiya RM01x. Are both cars still 'ok'? I know it's mostly driver skill.
I'm using LRP SXX Stock Spec v2 ESCs with 17.5 is how they were setup.
What tires should I buy? I have Jaco Black Front and Jack Yellow Rear from 2013 (!) and Ulti X-Hard Front and Ulti X-Medium Rears from the same timeframe...
Thanks...hope to see you at TQ in the near future.

The lighting 12 and esc will be fine, but you may find that the new 17.5's are significantly faster. The Ulti' s you have are still fine, haven't tried black/yellow combo on the new rug so cannot comment on those.
