Check out "SWTour". He has a few threads on here that pertain specifically to oval. He's somebody you definitely want to talk to.

P.S. back in the late 80's, i used to love to watch those ultra fancy looking modified sprint cars do their thing at Ranch Pit Shop's dirt oval track. It sure would be nice if that came back.

If you are in the So-Cal area, make a trip this Saturday (Oct 17th) to the ENCINO VELODROME located just off the US101 Freeway between White Oak and Balboa Blvd .... about 2 miles off the freeway

for more location info visit http://www.encinovelodrome.org/map.htm

The Velodrome is a 820 ft. HIGH BANKED Concrete Oval - with speeds in excess of 50 mph in our SLOW class.

Drop by and check it out - virtually ALL of the So-Cal OVAL racers (PAVED) and some of the Dirt Oval guys will be there on Saturday.

Come by and meet "The Guys" and check out ONE of the oval tracks we race on.

NOTE: The track is in the very back of the baseball park @ FRANKLIN FIELDS

BigDawg,

The OVAL Club Races at Jimmy's HotRod Hobbies are generally the FIRST Sunday of each month.

Most of the guys running there are also running some of our events - if you make it to the VELO Saturday, you can ask lots of questions...and meet some of the guys!

for DIRT OVAL racing - Racer's Haven in Bakersfield has about the best thing going there. I believe they do every other Friday night, and Wednesday nights.

Camarillo has a dirt oval too (Freedom Park's VENTURA ROAD RUNNERS) but I don't know what they have going at the moment.
