This is what I'm talking about

http://os.3racing.hk/carkits_web.php?carkits_web_key=15

Looks like were going to have to make a slight adjustment to the 2012 rules to allow this chassis to run... But it won't negate the purpose of the rules... 190mm will be the maximum width for the F1 class... it's pretty easy to widen a 104 or a F10 to 190mm if you want... This will still keep the higher performing 103 in the LM class...

It will be interesting to see how this car competes with the direct drive chassis... My personal feeling is it wont keep up, and at best it will be equal... But it's definitely going in the right direction to "Scale"

I can't wait to hold one up close....

very nice... i wonder if there are any plans for front brakes... i bet you could go faster having some front brakes... maybe even be able to run faster motors...

those of you that run in the open class for UF1 are most running foam tires? i know its a bit of a dumb question as foam has a deff advantage. I only ask because i can get an awesome deal on a f109(Ive owned one before) which would only be legal for the open class and I actually kinda like the feel of the car on rubber but remember it being a bit faster on foam.... and help?

Hey man, how ya doin?

Yeh you know I'll be runnin foam on Saturday but the future of F103/200mm foam is all but doomed unless a few of us keep in touch and get em out with some good planning.
There won't be any more F1 Open class at the UF1 races due to lack of participation, the heavy majority was in favor of the Realistic 180mm class.
However there will be the LeMans bodied class for the 200mm chassis on rubber at the UF1 Winter Series on a bi weekly basis at TQ.

Like 'cuda said, foam is faster. However, I have been running on rubber in the open class. Last month, two of the open class racers were running on rubber as well (I think they forgot to bring the foam...). Foam on carpet is going to make the rubber car look like it is going backwards.

Is the F109 over 180mm?

From where those 2 guys are standing, at the side pods, I'd say one is holding the button to rebind the transmitter/receiver and the other is reprogramming the boost on the esc.

F1 is alive and well in So. Cal!-cc.jpg This is a odd looking car but I guess safety comes first. Especially after what happened in las Vegas.

240Z - yes, F109 is a 200mm car.

xsracer - those two guys balance the car so it does not teeter-totter or fall of the front / rear jacks. Currently 9 pre-signed up for F1 rubber class for the Sweep Challenge. Sweep race will be same layout as this weekends UF1 finale.
