You need an ROAR license ($30) to race out there. You can renew it annually.
Call the shop in advance or better yet visit the shop to get the details. Gary and Eric are usually there.
Once you see the tracks, off-road, on-road and oval, you'll want to race there often.
I'm itching to try the new off-road track layout.

You can pretty much practice there any day of the week. It is a flat rate of $10. The only time you can't practice is if they are racing on that track. So if there is an on road race, that track is off limits till the race is over. But you can still practice on the off road and oval tracks.
A roar license is pretty much a must at any track, at least it has been to the ones I have been at.

I've practiced a few times there on the off road course. They have never asked me about ROAR membership. I think that is only required if you are going to race. The new layout on the off road track is really nice, much more open then the last layout. The new set up reminds me of the track at the Omaha Hobbyplex where the Nats were held this year. They haven't sugared the track in efforts to help keep tire wear to a minimum. I don't know if they plan to sugar it in the future. I was there on Friday one of the regulars was showed me how little wear he had on a set of BK bars (the current hot tire for the Nor-cal surface) after 40 minutes. It was very little if any at all. In contrast I had a set of BKs that I ran for maybe any hour on the sugared surface and I had quite a bit of noticeable wear. Once I get my buggy (XXX-CR) and my driving sorted out, I'll be running and racing there that is for sure.
