it would take lottery winnings, last year I did research, at the current real estate market prices in L.A., to purchase the land, and do it right, off road, onroad, parking, pits, lighting and power you're looking at six to eight million dollars. Just the price of the land we're already running on is in the neighborhood of 14,000,000 and it's just a parking lot!

Update 4/5/2018, Metro got back to me this morning and the following was sent. So sorry guys, we did all we could, looks like the Transit Center is a good memory. I wish to thank Paul LaMond and his associates at CalTrans for allowing us 11 years there to enjoy our hobby. We are working on an alternate site and we will keep you up to date on the progress.
In the meantime, lets supoport SCS Speedway, Phil and the crew have put in a lot of work to give us a top rated facility and they deserve everyones support. See u at the Protoform GP

Sad. I've seen who runs metro, I'll leave it at that, they are a very corrupt organization to say the least.
I Can't believe they are taking issue with this, they have many more issues and taxpayer dollars to waste elsewhere, apparently.

How much space is needed to set a track up for this club?
#1226
I believe the track perimeter at the Artesia Transit Center was ~120 x 280.

So sad this has come to pass. I lot of great times there and you're work and all the GLARCRC Club guys deserve a great big THANK YOU!! I've been back racing 1/10 scale on smaller tracks--was thinking maybe to get back to 1/5 -- but time will tell. Good luck with finding a new race place---or work with Phil Goodwine and move your club events to Steel City? I'm sure he would find a way to work with you. It's a BEAUTIFUL facility -- first class. I know--it's NOT near LA---but it's not too bad a drive right out the 210, the 10, or the 60 to get there. Let's RACE!!
