G.L.A.R.C.R.C. RETURNS TO RACING AT THE HARBOR GATEWAY TRANSIT CENTER
We met with Metro today and all I can say is Santa came early this year!!, Firstly..thanks to Chief Hill, he was very instrumental, here's a follow up email I received earlier today!!Glenn
It was a pleasure meeting you and Jimmy today. Appreciate your time and the positive discussion regarding your events.
To recap:
- Metro will work with GLARCRC to identify some dates to hold events at Harbor Gateway.
- Depending on projects starting within the lot itself (bus charging and refurbishments) the tentative date in which an alternative will be needed in June 2020. No races can take place after we begin our fiscal year as projects will be in motion.
o Metro will provide updates if that date changes one way or the other.
- Metro will also provide some additional contacts for potential alternative sites (especially the lot down the street from our Headquarters) in which GLARCRC can explore with those lot owners.
After speaking with the both of you today, it’s clear that your intent and goal is to have a positive impact on the communities you operate in. Metro appreciates that and will do what we can to support that venture with the understanding that our priority falls to our transit patrons.
Again, I thank you both for your time and look forward to continuing the conversation.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions.
Thank you

GLARCRC will be hosting an all electric race in May with multiple electric classes and one guest class. This is in response to the requests we received over many seasons to have such an event. It is called the "Lightning Strikes GP" and will be held Saturday and Sunday May 2,3 2020 at the Harbor Gateway Transit Center, Gardena CA. The track will be reconfigured in size to suit electric racing and we think it will be fun for all. Check out the facebook page and Pre Signups here:

he 23rd running of the race for the cure was a success, although the turnout was lighter than we have ever had, we still managed to raise $1000.00 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. GLARCRC wishes to thank the racers that came out for the cause.
It was a fun weekend with mild weather and temps in the upper 60's. The layout was changed back to something very similar to the KO Propo track and with a couple of minor modifications, was fast and flowing but challenging and the tyre wear was very good. Qualifying on Saturday according to the drivers was good as the traction continued to build and it was evident by Sunday's final round of qualifying and mains, lap times reflected that as the cars were definitely faster on Sunday.
The story of the weekend had to be 8 year old Brandon Thomas taking the win in the 1/8 Sportsman class, from the way he drove, this young man has a promising future in 1/8 onroad. You can see results and pictures here http://www.glarcrc.com/.
