OCRC Raceway
Hi,
Just booked the flights, so will be there 20 - 31 of August. Hope to get an entry in the Surf City Classic.
Budget isn't huge, something under $100 a night would be great. Will be hiring a car, so ok to travel around.
Open to suggestions on what to see, will be first time in the area.
Cheers.

You can drive down Pacific coast highwaya and make stops where you find something interesting. There's also the big amusement parks like Disneyland and knotts berry farm.

Day 1
* 6 mile hike to Hollywood sign
* Hollywood walk of fame
* Century City to snap selfie in front of "Nakatomi Plaza" from the movie "Die Hard"
* Lunch on Rodeo Drive
* Drive through Mulholland Dr from HWY 101 to HWY 405
* Ronald Reagan presidential library
* Take Hwy 23 back and cut through to HWY 1 (PCH) around sunset and snap a pic at crest overlooking the ocean
* Hit the Santa Monica pier at night when it's all lit up and snap a pic from Venice Beach
Day 2
* Downhill Mountain Biking at Snow Summit in Big Bear
* Take dirt road from Big Bear to Green Valley Lake (if time permits) we didn't do it this trip
* Snap sunset pic at a turnout going down the mountain
Day 3
* Disney park hopper + fast pass app on smart phone ( only do this on a weekday)
Day 4
* Oceanside Pier - across street is the "Top Gun House"
* Eat lunch at Caroline's on the cliff at La Jolla
* Take Segway Tour in La Jolla to visit seals, you can get within a few feet of them
* check out GasLamp District
* visit Coronado Island
* snap a sunset pic on the ocean
If weather is overcast, then shift your plans around so sunset pics won't be on cloudy days. When traveling, try to get on the roads around 5am and wait for traffic to die down after 9pm when traveling back otherwise you can waste many hours sitting in gridlock... sign up for all the toll roads you want to take in advance, they don't have any cash options which can really screw you in traffic too.
Eat a Tommy's Hamburger and eat at Roberto's Taco's and then you'll feel like a local in no time!

What system does OCRC use for transponders? Will they be switching to the Rc4 system if they haven't done so already?

For club racing is charging at 1C a rule, follow all ROAR rules or just some?

I doubt anyone charges 1C these days. I for one charge/discharge at 40/40 amps.
I was talking to a guy last time there and said the same thing. But what is the rule?

There really isn't a cap on charge rates for club racing. ROAR sanctioned races are a different story. But ROAR races are few and far between.
