LOL...thank you, I needed that. This definitely fits in the file of "Turning a mole hill into a mountain"

Only a DB would think they should file a PP claim on this after they altered the item and can't return it in it's originally received condition.

This thread makes my head spin.

I am absolutely stunned that the buyer would file a claim on this. The chassis was not damaged, altered or misrepresented by the seller. All of this over a hole.

Worse yet, this is the crap that ties up paypal and slows down the system, thereby making legitimate claims wait that much longer. In the end, these frivolous cases also end up raising the paypal fees just based on the manpower/staffing needs to review them.

Sorry, just my humble opinion.

There are not enough "face-palm" images to be found for this thread.... and whatever I said about not sticking up for the seller earlier on, I take it back. Sounds like you got low-balled to the point you just said ok, and let him have it for half of what it is worth.

You came here for advice, have you not read what the great majority of other racers are saying to you

theblitzkidd: What's your best outcome from PP? If they side with you, you're going to have to send the chassis back anyways. While I do agree with the others that this is probably easy to do, I can understand not wanting to do it yourself. You can't ask for more from the seller than his response here. He didn't realize there was a defect and is offering to fix it.

That is actually the only good reason I can think of for selling it like that. Would you feel better about it if he said that he did know about it before selling it?

Just buy the chassis back from him. Refund the money, have him send it to you, counter-sink the hole and let him decide if he wants to buy it back. Or just consider it a done deal and sell it to someone else. This whole thing is mind numbingly ridiculous, the "kidd" should just put 2 minutes of elbow-grease into it and be happy he got such a smoking deal, but no, that would be waaay to simple . Paypal doesn't need to be involved at this point. This has to be the boo-hoo thread of the year.

I would totally agree if it weren't for the fact that the buyer took it upon himself to alter the chassis. If he can't countersink a hole, how well do you think his sanding/sealing job looks?
