Default You make the call...

Bought something stated to be in great condition. Received it after not receiveing any tracking info and had asked numerous times. Connected it up and it didn't work. Notified the seller that day it did not work properly. Took a youtube video of it and posted it to the web showing it did not work. With this particular item there are many variables so I tested it with 3 different rx/ESC/motor combos with the same results.

Seller stated he would look over the next 24hrs to see if he could find someone having the same issue. Waited 2 days and had sent follow up PM to seller with no answer. Waited another 24 hours and opened up paypal case.

Seller does not want to refund and wants me to call the manufacturer to see if its broken and if so I can send it in and get it fixed as it worked the day he shipped it.

Without knowing what exactly it is(there are only a few choices) you make the call... Is a refund in order or should I have to send it to the manufacturer? If I do send it in, who is responsible for shipping and repair costs?

If he is a good seller, he would allow you to return the defective item. Sounds like he just wants to give you the run around.

You of course would pay for return shipping if he allows a return.

You should get your $$ back or he should refund some and pay to have it fixed. But that's me. I sold a rx8 to somebody at my track and after about 1 month of him using it it broke but I still paid half of the repair cost.

BWD, you're obviously not the type of person to "screw him". If you say it doesn't work I believe you. He should as well and simply let you return it to him and refund you. And then deal with the item himself as far as getting it fixed. My "gut" tells me he's trying to take you for a ride...but that's my gut and I could be wrong.

As has been said a refund (including shipping back to the seller) should be in order. I always shoot a video of my electronics working before packing up to send out but if I am dealing with someone of obvious good character (based on feedback) I would resolve it that way. Issue you a full refund, pay for the return shipping and then deal with getting it fixed on my end. This whole attitude of it worked when I shipped it is ridiculous. As a seller it is your job to get the item to your buyer in a working, as sold condition. Sellers need to make sure they pack adequately, ship with tracking (and insurance in some cases) and follow through with the tracking to the buyer.

i would say a full refund was in order myself , i had the very same thing happen to me . i took it on the chin and learned a valuable lesson . now if i buy any electronics i video me installing the said item from the time of me opening the package that way there is no doubt . Issue him a refund and get it fixed yourself. obviously BWD he doesnt know how respected you are on this forum either

I know what the device is. Someone would have had to smack the package with a giant hammer for it to have stopped working during shipment.

Get your refund and send it back.

Im guess transponder or data logger., Either way if BWD says it doesn't work then it doesn't work. The seller should accept the item back and refund Dave and the seller should send it off to the Manufacture himself. Dave should also get the shipping returned to him that he will have to pay to send it back.
