Lol, well, it was quite old and as you can see I've switched to AE, based on this transaction.

Paypal finally called back and has reopened the claim. I don't know if it will work in my favor but they did indeed think it was a full size car and not a toy car.

I will wait and see what happens with PayPal.

Thanks
Dave

It's cool. We all made mistakes when we were younger. As long as you're still a Honda guy, it's all good.

Racer1812 I would appreciate if you remove the negative rating and for future reference as a moderator you should remain neutral since you are only hearing one side of the argument.

next time describe the items as they are , the only thing anyone can say that's its like new is if is actually still sealed in the box, its very simple if anyone takes it out of the package and installs it or puts1 run on it well sorry its a used item do not advertise is as new or almost new.

Hi all,

I wanted to update this post with the resolution:

As I initially expected by the claim being closed due to validating the acceptable use policy, PayPal thought this was for a full size vehicle, not a toy.

After a few phone calls and explanation of what it is that I actually purchased, they re opened the claim as an appeal and they ruled in my favor and I have already recieved my refund.

Now, the last thing I am trying to figure out is why PayPal is advising me NOT to ship the item back. They have stated and confirmed this multiple times now. I would think if JEFFs SC10 was out his money and his vehicle he would be screaming about that... however I have not recieved anything from him regarding that.

I have one last email into paypal asking them if this is a normal process, and to confirm that I do not need to ship the item back (they could have possibly refunded me as an "insurance" from their buyer protection policy, and he may still have his money, but I don't known that).

Once that last part is resolved, this will be complete and I will be happy.

Thanks everyone for your help.

Sorry I haven't replied to your PM. I do take some time off from here.

I've only seen PP do that once on here, refund the buyer and NOT make them return the item. IMO, it's not the right thing to do morally. I would spend the less than 20 bucks it would cost to ship it and give his car back.

Trust me, PP isn't paying you out of thier pocket for your refund either.

Well, Ive sent him a text requesting a return shipping address and asked him if he wants to split the shipping charges back, however it of course went unanswered.

I understand it is not morally correct to keep the car, which is not my intention. I will make an effort to get the car back to him, but at the same time if he isn't responding, I am not going to continue wasting my time. I spent literally 7 hours on the phone (4 of which were on hold Friday night) trying to get this resolved. Ive wasted enough time with this and if he is not willing respond, I am not willing to waste my time.

I will wait to see what PayPal tells me to do.

I can't ship it until I have an address and he's not responding to my communications to provide me with that.

Makes sense. Did he not put a return address on the box when he shipped ?
