Default issues with Vintageguy

I have been very patient and was going to let this transaction slide BUT,
on august 31 2016, I had messaged him about nitro motors, thanking him for his suggestions and telling him that I was looking for a little bit more motor, he said he had a ultimate m8 .21 that he modded and was for sale, he had it for a local person but they had not bought it yet, he was asking 275.00, I offered him 250.00 dollars for it and then he told me that he could not ship till friday as someone had passed and the wake was on thursday, and the funeral was friday morning, and I was fine with this, so on saturday the 3rd of september, the wife and I went to the minnesota renasaince festival, and I sent him a text asking for tracking since I did not see anything from him the night before or that morning, he asked me if I thought he was SCAMMING me, I replied no, just was asking for tracking info, so on tuesday, I sent another PM telling him that I just received the pipe, header, air filter, clutch assembly for this motor, and still NO tracking, and last communication on this site was on the 7th of september, so on wednesday september 21, I started a paypal dispute, low and behold vintage guy texts me asking about the NON sense dispute and tells me that he would ship the motor the next day if I was to close the paypal case, I told him that I would not till I either get the money or the motor, then he states that he would refund me the money when he gets to the bank to make a deposit, so fast forward and still NO money, I feel he has had lots of time to make this deal good, if he could not take care of his end, he should of refunded the money or sent the motor, and if he would of refunded the paypal before I had to escalate it, I would not of put this up for everyone to read, I have ALL the PM's and ALL the texts messages for what he calls 'toy car parts', but what I don't understand is his claim of having "read receipts" for messages when I have NEVER clicked on the pop up box requesting this, their again, I think he is full of it, so buyer beware and thinking he needs some negative feedback for this stuff, their is no call for it

My personal opinion. If there is some issues with a seller but they refund without hassle a neutral feedback would pprobably suffice. If a seller has to get PayPal involved to get it resolved , negative feedback should be given. At that point if they they refund or ship on their own its still because PayPal was involved not because they are a good seller.
P.S.
DON'T believe that PayPal alwways takes care of the buyer either. Look at rule #3 in my sig there is the proof of that.

I agree with hotrod....they don't always side with buyer....I also believe if you had to force a resolution, negative feedback is warranted...With your rating, I know you can approach RACER if you get a corresponding negative from seller and he can remove(if warranted) ..Sorry for your troubles....I hope it is resolved shortly

well some updates on the issues, I finally received a refund posted into my paypal account, it was almost a month of waiting for this deal to happen, as for sending vintage guy a message about this thread, before I opened a paypal claim, he asked me to not message him again, so I am and always will keep my end of the bargain, as for the same person, I would have to say yes from just what I have read on his personal page, as anyone that has had deals with me, will say I am a person of their word and I could not tell you how many people over the years that I have helped, I know their has been several deals made on this site when I put the items in the mail, long before paypal payment was even made, and people who have bought items always seemed to be very happy and satisfied with how quickly things get to them, as I hate to wait for items and always will treat them the same, just wished this did not have to happen as I have had some outstanding deals with alot of members, so to me this is just a little hiccup in the road, and will now let karma get the better of him

My rule of thumb for myself is: If I sold something and they don't like it, I refund that quickly as possible take it that they send it back to me exactly as how they received it. If I bought and paid for something I have every right to question, ask and request up to the minute how things are going in the shipping process; after all they have my money. It's not like they are running Amazon or anything close to that nature. These are all personal items that can be dealt with quickly and easily. A phone call or text should never ever be ignored.

Did HE give you a refund or did PayPal themselves take action and return your money?

I was basically letting this thread play out as needed. Unfortunately for you Vintageguy, aka "718", I'm now involved

Yes Vintageguy you have great feedback, right up until there's an issue. Ironically this issue seems to be a mirror image of the issue you had a couple years ago in THIS thread.

How do I figure you're FORMER member "718"? Well you were foolish enough to basically say so! Below is a visitor message posted by YOU, on YOUR profile page in reference to someone calling you out as being "718"........

"Yes, I had ONE issue with a guy because I didn't ship "right away". I was taking care of a family emergency at that time (not to mention dealing with being diagnosed with CRPS). I issued him a FULL refund and moved on. That was well over a year ago. I was told by a staff member to open a NEW account because I had perfect feedback until that happened. I opened a new account on here like I was told to do by a staff member. That was also over a year ago. Look at my feedback for ALL sales & trades. It is 100% positive. My feedback rating is 100% positive with 40 transactions."

*the fact that this was posted this on 1/31/16 doesn't really matter*

Here's a couple issues. Anyone who reads the '718' thread is going to see the crazy similarities between that issue and this one

Second, and this is kind of a big one...NO staff member, I repeat NO member of the Mod staff is going to tell you to create a NEW account!!! Especially after I BAN you! Your claim that a staff member told you to do that is complete and utter BULL CHIT!!

I don't care how good your feedback has been up to this point. This thread, and your actions (or lack of) are the exact reason you were banned 2+ years ago!

to answer your question, when I filed the paypal dispute, they gave him till october 2 to respond to them, then I received a notice from paypal that the case has been settled approx 9-29 2016 as that was when I seen the funds in my account, so I am not sure if HE did it or not as he could of done this settling thing a lot sooner than he did, he did send me a text stating he would do the refund on the 21st, then on september 28th he texted, stating he issued the refund like promised, it just took him over a week to push the refund button ??

Thank you Racer for the involvement in this matter

Guys like that ruin it for us guys who don't have a trader rating at all. Although I've made one good transaction on this site (I was the buyer).

everyone starts at zero, it is what you make of it, that really defines you as a person and proud rctech member, as I buy and sell on this site and help out with others when I can
