Default No feedback no posts, advice?

I've got a buyer for a buggy I'm selling. I got an offer from him, and I accepted it. I have not sent him my paypal info. yet. So I just checked his info. no posts, no feedback?? Advice? Just seems odd to me, so as a seller what can go wrong?

Thanks!!

He sends money, you ship, he claims it's junk and files dispute through PayPal, they side with him, he sends you a box of rocks and gets his money back.

Or...

He pays, you ship, everything works out fine.

Or... anything in between scenario 1 and 2.

I tend to stay away from 0 feedback buyers on any kind of higher dollar items. People who just can't pass up a good deal (as buyers) or people who can't pass up any chance at a sell, well those people start a lot of threads in this section.

Yeah, that thought crossed my mind. But I thought I'd seek a 2nd opinion.

Thanks for the input. I hate to pass up a buyer....but I'd hate to loose a $400.00 buggy also.

generally what I do when a trader has low or no feedback, I would ask for some more info, meaning a cell number, a friend that could verify this person, it is always better to have too much info as for these guys with low feedback, we all started their and if he truly is interested, they would not bat a eye in giving up their personal info, its just hoops that need to be jumped thru

also have taken pictures of the item, and had done the taping at the post office, that way their was ANOTHER person who could verify what was shipped in the box

good luck with the sale

I've sold to guys with same or similar circumstances. Take pics and or video for proof and use PayPal. 9 of 10 users are good guys. But there is always the 1........

No feedback? No sale.

Not at 100%? No sale.

Simple plan to live by.

all got to start somewhere. Ultimately though on high dollar items I can definite see being leary of selling to someone with that low of feedback, etc.

As someone who has no feedback here, I'd like to chime in. I've bought and sold everything from cameras to cars off forums over the course of the last decade, but never from this site.

I personally would ask to see feedback from another source, whether it's other forums, eBay, etc. at the very least check out their Facebook page. Everything really has feedback any more. I get its scary, but I also know that just because they have a zero rating, that doesn't mean they are going to burn you.

Ill put it this way. There is far more risk as the seller, than a buyer. So, would you BUY from somebody here with 0 posts and 0 feedback? No, me either... so would you want to sell to one knowing there is more risk selling than buying?

Right on Cain, gotta start somewhere. I went out on a limb, it turned out 2 different items, both sellers had zero posts, one had a plus on the trader feedback. I got a good vibe from both buyers, turns out both were super nice to deal with, transactions went smooth. Thanks for the advice everyone.

As a newer member of this forum it was awesome to see the itrader ratings system here. As a buyer it helped me make some purchase decisions. But getting feedback as a buyer hasn't been forthcoming. I've got a few ratings at this point but really only about 1 in 3 transactions has generated feedback so far. Now it is a topic while exchanging pm's as I don't want to find myself in a position where I can't buy or sell an item because of a low amount of feedback.
That said the sellers I've dealt with here so far have been honest. And thanks to the ones who sold to me even when my trader rating was "0".

What you have to remember is that there are tons of forums out there. This site isnt the end all be all of rc classifieds. Just because they are new here doesnt mean they are a bad buyer, it could mean they just found the site.

If you are worried about it, ask if they have feedback in other forums, ask if they have ebay feedback. You can also search their paypal email and see how long they have had it, and if its verified.
