Default Described as excellent

Opinions, don't want to get into it with anyone and at the end of the day it's not a whole lot of money but I've been buying/selling things on the internet in general for probably close to 20 years. Many of those items are quite high dollar, so this isn't my first rodeo but I have to say I've had very very good luck over the years.

Agreed to a purchase price on a radio and three receivers, saw pictures of at least two receivers everything was/is described as excellent.

Communication was good, shipped quickly. Arrived and while I wouldn't describe the radio as excellent it looks pretty good. Two receivers look good, third one top tab is missing, antenna is missing with tape around the case.

Contact the seller, his response it works just fine. Didn't ask for a refund, but mentioned I wasn't very happy and didn't think it was described accurately.

I did ask if everything was in good shape and fully working without issues.

Receiver may work just fine, but I probably wouldn't have done the deal knowing the condition of the receiver in question.

Forget about it or ask for a little back? I probably place the value at 20-40 bucks.

$200 shipped for a Futaba 4PK with 3 receivers?
http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...pk-3-recs.html
Last time I bought replacement receiver antennas, they were two for $7.50 shipped on eBay. I would not consider a broken tab on a used receiver case much of a loss. It's just a brittle plastic case that can be repaired. If I sold it to you, I'd refund $10 without hesitation. Asking for $40 seems greedy. Just my opinion. These are used electronics. And one person's "excellent condition" might equal another person's "excellent working condition", as in fully functional. Just my opinion

Hmm....got pics of "at least 2 rx's". Seems to me the 3rd one was left out of the pic for a reason. Obvious damage or missing parts (antenna) should ALWAYS be mentioned by the seller.

What should you do at this point? I honestly don't know.....that's up to you

Opinions?

Yep, everybody has one...

You bought used equipment, 3 rx's, saw pics of only 2. Your bust for not asking for pics of the third one.

You think it's ok that the seller didn't disclose the true condition of the 3rd rx?

It's ALMOST a catch 22. He should have asked, but he shouldn't have had to.

Can't really help ya, as the entire AD consisted of:

"$200 shipped text for pics 805 714 5403"

What if he sent you a pic via text of the 3rd, but it never went through for some reason? Happens to me all the time. Not that it is likely, but this is why you want everything in the thread itself (pics, info, communication via PM), so you have recourse help here on the forums.

The only thing you can do is ask for a partial, or ship it back after a dispute via paypal.

I don't think it's OK at all that the seller didn't fully disclose the true conditions of the equipment. I agree with you on the "catch 22".

Cpt. America's post says it all. I tend to bypass the for sale ads with no pics, fuzzy pics or "text for pics".

Thanks for the opinions, I tend to over-describe something and certainly disclose anything/everything.

If I think something even has the remote chance of being questions, I address it.

I generally don't buy used radios or speed controllers on line and I don't sell them either..too much can go wrong, so I'll sell them locally..right now I'm giving a speed controller away to a guy but..I'm not sellin it..

Personal preference. I don't bother with ads that don't have pics either.

+1. Not saying that it's always the case, but when I see an ad with no pics, it just makes me think that if they can't do something as simple as take a picture of what they're trying to sell, they're probably not motivated to maintain their stuff and possibly not too ambitious when it comes to shipping either. Maybe. Maybe not. It's just what comes to mind when I see it. 99% of the time I won't even read the entire ad if I don't see pics.
