Problem with purchase, Broken item

Well, its been quite awhile since i had an issue, so i guess it was about time, and i guess it comes in groups.....First i get a scumbag on Ebay that sells me a motor thats shot, and now this.

I bought a Flysky GT3B from a newer member here, i needed a 2nd one so i can loan out rc's for friends to use. It had the lipo mod done so i figured it would be worth it......well i guess not..

I get it and everything powers up, but when i was able to test it fully yesterday the "end" button doesnt work. For those not familiar with the radio you need the end button to make any adjustments, like throttle, steering, end points, basically everything you would need to adjust. Another weird thing is the steering is kind of delayed and jittery, thought i might have been imagining it, but i tried my other flysky and it doesnt do this.

For timeline purposes, I got the item Monday night, I was out tuesday night didnt have time to test it, tested it last night (weds). So I've had the item for only 2 days.

I sent the seller a pm letting him know about the issues, and that i wanted to return it for a refund.
His response was, well it was working when i sent it, file a claim.

I sent another pm back saying do you really want to have a claim filed against you and get a negative over a $40 controller? You really wont let me return it to you for a refund?

So, that was last night, should i even wait for a response? or just file the claim and give him a negative rating?

Thanks for your input

My advice, start your claim and see what that does. Wait to leave feedback. Only because he may change his mind once he sees you're serious and agrees to give a refund. It's REALLY borderline on negative vs. neutral, but only if he agrees to a refund vs. making you go through the whole claims process

IMO;)

Thats good to know, but not sure how that will help me.

1.) the end button doesnt work, not sure how hacking it would fix it.

2.) I shouldnt have to pay someone else for a service on a radio that should have been working when i got it.

Thanks, thats pretty sound advice.

He has until the end of the day to respond, if not i'll file a claim. I also sent him a pm with a link to this thread.

My rule is, i try to resolve the issue without a claim. If they wont try to make things right, and I have to file a claim thats a negative in my book.

I dont think you should wait for the feedback!! If you have to start a claim to get a refund, because he sold you junk,I would leave the feedback he deserves and file a claim. That just shows what kind of seller he is.:nod: Thats my oppinion.

FWIW, I agree with Racer's suggestion.

Me too

sorry to hear this is happening to you Kylar, hope it works out.

I am assuming he didn't get insurance of it when he shipped it as it could have been damaged in the mail?

Kylar 07-12-2012 06:32 PM

Thanks everyone, the seller agreed to let me return it. I'll ship it out tomorrow and update the thread once I get the refund.

Cain, thanks buddy, i highly doubt it, it was shipped in the original box in the Styrofoam.

thats great. electronics can be a funny thing which is why I always get insurance when its something like a radio, etc. doesn't take much jarring to damage something.

Just had to vent.So many buyers and sellers having problems. Its just not right to tell the buyer to file a claim instead of going good on it right away, some sellers hope the buyer just forgets about it.I guess everyone has there own oppions.

You're not going to ship it before you get your money back are you??
That's how I read your post anyway....

+1

Isn't that what he should do? I wouldn't issue a refund until I got my radio back, if I were the seller.

Just like a retail store, and all that fun stuff we've told countless other people before.
