Default SPN, poor seller

I put a WTB ad out for a T-maxx roller for a winter project. SPN responded that he had one for me that he thought was a "Gen 1 3.3 T-maxx roller", which I naturally thought was a 4909 3.3. I paid $110 immediately through paypal to him and he told me he'd ship it out, this was January 27th.

A couple days goes by and I ask him if he shipped it....of course his back was out and it recently snowed so whatever. I gave it a couple more days and asked again, he gave me him number to call him. He said he'd drop it off by UPS that evening for shipping so I'd have it the next day as he is only 100 miles from me or so. Seemed a nice enough guy, I could tell he was looking at the parts as I talked to him.

3 more days goes by and I contact him again..."you haven't gotten that yet?!" Said he was going to check on it with his UPS office and after a couple PMs asking for the tracking number he didn't respond. I filed a paypal claim on February 10th, he packed it up and shipped it that day, I got it on the 11th. He said he forgot to put the address on the box when he dropped it off at UPS and they were just storing it for him until he got back.

After close inspection and studying of multiple exploded(pro .15, 2.5, 3.3), I have found that this isn't at all a 3.3 roller. I think at best it's a early 2.5, but it has a couple of pro .15 parts on it. So it's either a pro.15 with some 2.5 or a 2.5 with some pro .15. Ugh!

I'm chalking this one up to experience.

Lessons Learned
Get Pictures
Don't trust someone just because of their feedback
Get a tracking number within a couple of reasonable days or file a claim

This was only 110 bucks, and it's not worth arguing over 110 bucks so I'm just going to eat it. I wasn't going to leave negative feedback in fear of retaliation feedback, but I'm going to anyway. I hope that doesn't hurt my upcoming "cleanout" in the forsale forum.

The real kick in the nuts were the posts of how he spent hours at the track (instead of shipping what I already paid for), and the other shipments of parts and products that he made between 1/27 and 2/10. Not sure what I did to this guy, maybe it was just inconvienent to gather everything up and ship it all, just not sure.

On a better note. I put another WTB for a t-maxx roller after I decided to scrap this piece of crap and ended up with a real nice 2.5r roller. I bought this one for my son, who is 5, since he likes his hpi rs4 and my revo so much.

Cheers all!

WOW!!!!! i have done many deals with SPN, and is one of the most honest guys here!! very nice guy also!!! first you said " he thought" it was a GEN 1 3.3, "thought" is the key word. ask for pics if unknown. (your fault). you did receive a tmaxx (unknown GEN). He thought it was what you wanted (but not sure). in my opinion neither buyer or seller should receive a negitive feedback, just bad communacation

He sounded like a nice guy on the phone, just didn't get what was expected in the time expected. The mods can delete the feedback if they feel it needs done. I'm not trying to stir anything up, just putting it out there for future buyers to be careful and get the facts.

BTW I sold this truck as it was described to me when I received it.

If I didn't know it wasn't what I said it was I would have never sold it.

I did give you a ton of my own T-maxx parts just to get rid of them. You received a ton of stuff as I felt bad.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I just wish you would have called or communicated with me instead of leaving me negative feedback. I don't think that was worthy.

Non the less I'll buy everything back as I don't want you to not be happy.

I'll be in Maryland today and will be glad to meet up with you and buy everything back...

Just so you know Trick, I am close with SPN, and yes, he did get snowed in, and yes, his back did go out.

SPN is one of the most trustworthy sellers on here, and MANY would stand up for him.

I do apologize you had a beef with him, but if you tried working it out WITH SPN, i guarantee you he would set it right.

I guarantee it.

Feedback should only be negative if you have already tried to resolve through communication and can't get it.

I agree. I think Joe is realizing that he recieved a ton of stuff for $110 and isn't interested in me buying anything back. I know he received 4-5 transmissions, extra parts nip, aluminum hop ups, 4 new chassis', 23mm wheel conversion, receivers, etc....not to mention a roller.

I still haven't heard from this guy so how do I help him?

Still waiting to hear from Joe...

The sad thing is I gave the money to my buddy and gave up a ton of my stuff...all in the name of negative feedback lol

When leaving feedback, remember the following:

Please focus on the sale or trade.
-Would you deal with the individual again?
-How would you rate the communication of the sale or trade?
-Did the deal complete in the proper timeframe discussed in the deal?
-Was the item described and represented properly?

Shipping and Payment
-Was the item properly protected in shipping?
-Was it shipped in the manner as discussed?
-Was the payment received in the proper timeframe?
-Was the payment received in the proper manner as discussed?

If you have a deal with any RCTech member, please post the proper feedback pertaining to that deal. Good or bad, the more information that you can include on the deal, the more informed other members will be in future transactions.

For negative feedback or comments, definitely discuss this with the other party involved before posting the thread in Trader Feedback. This will give the other party a chance to correct any problems that may arise in the deal before something is set in the public forums. Sometimes it may only be a matter of miscommunication, or a slight mistake on either party’s side. Please be prepared to be patient, but definitely post your concerns, and all the corrective action taken by the other party if applicable.

The Trader Feedback forum is designed to encourage informed trading between RCTech members. Please keep all posts in this area constructive and pertaining to the deal, or possible future deals. It is not a flame forum, and all posts not pertaining to the trade or the individuals involved are subject to being removed from the forum with possible disciplinary action.

If you disagree with comments made in a thread, please contact the poster via Private Message or e-mail. If you disagree with a negative comment made about you and/or your trade, it is your responsibility to contact the other individual and resolve that problem. Ask the poster to edit and/or amend the negative post.

There's the retalitory feedback.

A seller has to have accountability for what they are selling. A seller can't simply say "hey, that's what my buddy told me it was".

I see I stirred up the nest here and that wasn't my intention. My intention was to warn others that I didn't get what I was led to expect, and that it took 2 weeks to ship it. I'm guessing the shipping delay was why you were feeling bad?

I did receive a bunch of extra parts, of which I plan to use the 4909 transmission. Everything else is going to sit there.

In a show of good faith in cleaning up this mess, what do you propose. I will tell you that I expect nothing and consider this closed.

I apologize to those that are upset. Again, this was not my intention

Joe,

If you're happy with what you're bought then what's the point of stirring something up? If you had a problem with me or something I sold I should have been informed immediately. Not a week later by receiving negative feedback.

If you want to clean up this mess it would be based on withdrawling the negative feedbacks.

I would be glad to remove your negative feedback as at this point you know the protocol on the forums in dealing with someone. You communicate with them first once receiving your item.

I would have never in a million years told you it was a 3.3 if I wasn't told that myself. I was told it was a gen 1 3.3 as we discussed.

If you don't want me to help you with what you bought I don't know what to propose. I honestly gave my buddy the money for the truck immediately after I received payment. All of the extras besides the truck were parts that I gave you out of pure generosity. These parts did not come with the truck...

All in all I hope that we can mutually work something out. I'm not perfect and having a lot of positive feedback can demonstrate that not every transaction is flawless. When errors occur I correct them. That's why I have good feedback. I choose to make things right.

I still don't know how to resolve this as I haven't heard what I can do to resolve this.

I'm open to your thoughts.

Thanks,
Carey
