Guys, I have no idea if this RCU thread is legit, but I want to warn you that this truck was supposedly LOST during shipment when I sold it last year. I had to go through all of the hoops with FedEx to get my money back. The buyer at the time was from Florida and claimed he never received it, but the delivery guy said he delivered it. (lesson learned to require signature!)

Again, I don't know if the RCU post is real or not, but you may want to be careful with this one and ask for recent pics!!!

Wow, with this kind of response, I will just keep my warnings to myself. I just thought the whole deal smelled fishy. My bad, for having any concern for the RC community.

Cheers,

Mike,

I want to thank you for bringing this to my (our) attention. I had no idea someone had my pics from a prior sale posted on RCU, as I don't go to that site at all. You were right to question this one as I definitely do not have this truck anymore, so this guy's story does smell fishy as you say. Glad you were able to get your money back!

I got burned many years ago by a similar deal on the Bay, where a guy was lifting pictures from prior auctions and posting them as his own.

So just to set the record straight, THIS GUY IS IN NO WAY RELATED TO ME and I have no idea what is going on with this sale on RCU, but I can assure you the truck I had was sold last year and was shipped to Florida. Where it finally ended up I have no idea.

Gary.....Thanks for watching out for me!

Hey minimadman2003,

I'm glad you understand what I meant when you saw this thread. As I stated previously, I knew you had no knowledge of this.....I was just wanting to give a warning here as if any other buyers are like me, they shop around.

Cheers, Mike

I, personally would see too many warnings than people keeping quiet until someone gets burned.

Good show, Mike.

Was the person in Florida from Newport Richey. A guy there scammed about 8 people on here and on RCU in the summer (me being one of them). I'd be curious if this person posting your pics is the same person as well.

No, I'm not going to smear anyone. I took him at his word that he never received the package, and since I didn't specifically request a signature I had no proof otherwise. I thought since it was insured (thank goodness) that a signature would be required automatically, but that was not the case. I refunded his money and received a payment from FedEx a few months later, so all is well.

I don't think the guy on RCU has my truck, just the pictures I posted of my truck.

here is my .02, somethign is really fishy since the truck was sold last year ended up MIA, and now there is a sale on rcu using the same pics posted in the original fs thread here on rct, so anyone else see red flags? my opinion is to just use your gut until you at least have the story from both parties at which time you have a better idea.

Default Not close enough for me

Well all this person did get me. While I have filed a claimed on paypal. I am sure they already took the money from the account and ran. I have to wait to escalate. And yes this is indeed or supposedly a woman , who knows. Ive considered calling the local PD where they live and have them paying him or her a visist , even though I bet the addy is fake. Since they are verified maybe just maybe paypal may have the correct info! In short beware!
