The most concerning thing is that these scammers are no longer getting the ban hammer within a reasonable amount of time.

Are they just signing up too quickly? Have the mods lost the energy? What next?

Just received a message from this guy as well, sent me a bogus email address, I emailed before I looked up his name. He responds to the email with pictures the sanwa m17 I wanted. I proceeded to reverse google search the image and found the original ad and seller here on RCtech. So I copied that link and replied back to his email with that lol.

Probably safe to say that if someone tells you to contact his friend then its a scam.

Most scammers have fairly new accounts and only 1 post as well.

I don’t see why the mods don’t just boot his ass with an IP ban

Too busy handing out for sale bump infractions
For those with sensitive feelings... that was a joke.

Received multiple messages from this guy about the same item, but he gives different emails every time.
associated scam emails: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected].

And associated paypal addresses:
[email protected], [email protected]

Pretty much can't trust rctech anymore due to these issues.

No, actually you can trust RCTech.
Did you look to see how long the person has been a member?
How about their feedback rating?
Wants you to contact somebody else who has what you’ve looking for?

Wants to conduct everything outside of RCTech?
Doesn’t have PayPal?
Wants payment as a gift?

The rules won’t do anybody any good if people don’t read them!!
Especially if they won’t follow them either!!
If people don’t want to follow the rules, don’t go blaming others for their own stupidity!!
I’m not singling anyone out or directing this towards anyone. I’m just giving a opinion in general.

Default They got me

I posted a WTB add for a Tekin Hotwire.

https://www.rctech.net/forum/members...99-282441.htmlr

sparrow99 reached out and told me to email [email protected]. I did and we texted +1 (919) 289-9080 back and forth. Sent pics and everything.

seemed like would be okay. Once I sent the PayPal I never heard back. I later get a message on PayPal saying to never contact them again.

lesson learned. It’s sad to see other hobbyists doing this to each other.

Did you pay Friends and Family by chance?

If you are skeptical.. or they dont have any type of reputable feedback.. ask for a pic of the item your buying... with the date, his username and your username written on a piece of paper... I got burned in the past to, cause i used Friends and Family and couldnt get the money back..

You can always verify their paypal email before sending money also.

I did F&F.. I was thinking of adding the 3% on top without asking. I should have. Lesson learned. I’m glad it wasn’t something more expensive.

whoever’s doing it is a total piece of shit though. I hope they use it to buy taco bell and get permanent diarrhea. LOL
