he also messaged me and said to contact the above email adress in regards to my wtb ad. seems strange to me...

The scammer always want you to contact them directly, away from the forum. When someone sends me a pm like that, they definitely go on my block list.

when something like that happens tell him/them to post on the ad itself, once they post there will be a record of the ip address , then we can figure out if is a multiple account member
