Has anyone been contacted by PM from new member 19xam77?

He signed onto RCTech the other day and within minutes PM'd me about several items wanting to buy. Seemed odd was all and thought that perhaps he's PM'd others like that as well.

Hi, everybody! SteveM is absolutely right: I had registered at RCTech a couple days ago and contacted him to buy several items. My son participated in the Ukrainian RC championship a few years ago. Now we are living in USA and he wants to continue racing, so I have to build a new racing model for him. I know exactly what I need, so I searched a few marketplaces including this forum. When I found what I need I registered an PM'd the seller b/c this is the only way to buy something.

No real reason to post this in anyplace.. just because the guy signs up for 1 reason to buy something he has seen for sale..just no right.

There is nothing wrong with being careful and cautious, especially in light of the rash of scams and rip-offs perpetrated on these forums lately by 'new' members. Getting a PM from someone, who had joined only minutes earlier, wanting to buy my high-end item raises red flags for me. I have every right to protect myself and stay safe.

I can guarantee I have more experience and knowledge on this than you. I most certainly would make every effort to vet a potential buyer who seemingly joined the site only so they could contact me about my items for sale.

My concern was unfounded and in the end we completed a smooth transaction and 19xam77 received his purchase, was very pleased with the like brand new condition, received positive feedback and left same for me. Closed.
