Default Friends and Family payPal

Has something changed with the policy? My last three purchase transactions have been requested I pay through Friends and Family. I am not comfortable paying that way and have refused two of the three. It just seems like a recent thing. I have been buying on here for about a year and never had an issue. Is anyone else seeing this?

It’s a way around the PayPal fees.

Pay Goods and Services and just add 2.9% - that will cover the pp fee. Don't send F and F unless you know them or trust them...

You should report all of the people asking for friends and family payments. It is still against forum rules and at the very least those three people need to be suspended for a while.

Good to know, I am not looking to start trouble but also not looking to get ripped off. A 2.9% fee is not a high enough amount to try and skirt. I will just pass on those requests.

When sending payment through PayPal, if any seller asks you to pay F&F then refuse and move on. If any seller asks you pay G&S and wants an additional 2.9% (or anything) refuse and move on. Sellers should be expected to absorb any PP fees as part of the process and price their items accordingly. PERIOD!

If a seller asks you to pay friends and family he is wanting you to cheat PayPal out of there fee. So if you do pay that way don't be surprised when he cheats you out of your money.

The only issue I have with the trader rating is that most people do not report on there. I have left 25 reviews on transactions and have received 8. I have always been a buyer never a seller.

It is good to know that there are ways to get people off of here is they don't belong.
